Uh Oh! Sarah Jessica
Parker Hints At
Another ‘Sex and the
City’ Movie… Here Are
6 Reasons It’s Not the
For six seasons and a movie that was everything we hoped for, we followed the luxurious and stylish life of Carrie Bradshaw and her friends on Sex and the City, and we loved it.
So imagination our devastation when the most recent sequel, Sex and the City 2, was far from perfect.
And now, in a new interview with In Style, SATC star Sarah Jessica Parker teased there may be more to tell of Carrie’s story!
“A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell,” SJP told the magazine. “But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!”
As much as we love Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte… we’re not so sure this is such a great idea. We’re firm believers in “if ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” but they obviously didn't get that memo.
So Sex and the City 2 came out and we all know how that went down—banging into Aiden in Abu Dhabi? Big gives her a massive diamond after she cheated? Don't think so.
We’re pretty sure they ran out of ideas BEFORE SATC 2… don’t believe us? Take a look below! It may just convince you that another movie isn’t such a good idea.
The only good part of Sex and the City 2 was the flashback… which isn’t necessary anymore!
It’s no surprise that one of the highlights of the sequel was the flashback to 1988, when Carrie arrived in New York. However, The Carrie Diaries, which is currently on TV, tells a different story about Carrie’s arrival in the Big Apple. Attempting another flashback will just mess with continuity even more!
The movie lost anysense of realism.
When Sex and the City premiered in 1998, it was praised for its realistic portrayal of female sexuality and city life. By the time Sex and the City 2 came out in 2010, it had completely lost all touch with reality.
Case in point: an Arah sheikh provided an all-expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi for Samantha and her friends? Really?
We don’t want to see any more characters get ruined.
Let’s be honest, seeing Aidan abandon his wife, child and happiness for Carrie was heartbreaking for fans. Sure, he could’ve been awesome to see a beloved character return, but we wish it didn’t have to be over an affair! Another movie just opens more opportunities for the show to ruin beloved characters.
Is Sex and the City 2 to blame for Miley’s transformation!?
Let’s just remember what Miley Cyrus was like in 2009—before filming her SATC 2 cameo; she was still Hannah Montana, kept her clothes on and things were great. Then she made a cameo as a major diva in Sex and the City 2. Coincidence? Probably. Regardless, is it really a risk we want to take?
Sex and the City 2 already offended people… let’s just stay out of trouble this time, okay?
When the girls left their beloved New York for Abu Dhabi, fans weren’t sure what to expect. And what did they get? Racism. By showing a narrow view of Muslims and culture in the United Arab Emirates, the film was called out for being close minded and perpetuating stereotypes.
We would hate to see anyone else get offended in the wake of another SATC movie!
We already got our happy ending—let’s leave it that way!
Despite its flaws, SATC 2 did manage to tie up any loose ends and gave everyone their happy ending - AT LAST. And at the end of the day, we’re all suckers for happily-ever-afters, so why try to change it now!?
We’ll raise our cosmos to that!
