Krysten Ritter Gets
Sick, Forcing Her to
Miss An Appearance At
the Sundance Film
Shortly after arriving in Park City, UT, for the Sundance Film Festival, Krysten Ritter became very sick causing an unexpected schedule adjustment amongst her team.
“Krysten Ritter came to Sundance with a full schedule of appearances and events to attend, but shortly after landing she became ill and had to cancel a majority of her events,” a source tells In Touch. “She spent a couple of days recouping at her accommodations.”
Even though Ritter attended the Abbot + Main private dinner on Jan. 18 with Kellan Lutz and Geoff Stults, she missed out on an important event the next day—the Supper Suite hosted by STK, Dobel Tequila and Johndrow Vineyards for the cast of The One I Love and Listen Up Philip. Those who did attend included Elisabeth Moss, Jason Schwartzman and Mark Duplass as well as Rooney Mara, who stopped by to congratulate her boyfriend Charlie McDowell.
After being a no-show at the cast reunion, the 32-year-old actress tweeted on Jan. 20 her excuse for being absent: “Sundance got me #sickie,” she wrote with a picture of all the medications she was taking to help her get by—NyQuil, a sore throat spray, a prescribed Z-Pak of the antibiotic Azithromycin among others.
Moments later, Ritter confirmed she had bronchitis when she replied to a user, “Yep! Bronchitis. So awful! But it won’t break my spirit!”
The star of Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 didn’t let her illness get in the way for the remainder of her time at Sundance. “She made her best effort to attend what she could,” an insider tells In Touch. “Everyone was happy to see her finally out.”
As scheduled, Ritter co-hosted the Yellowtail Sunset Strip event at Rock & Reilly's with Geoff Stults where she captured an Instagram pic of him kissing her on the cheek. She also got to catch up with pal Adrian Grenier tweeting: “It had been Years! He’s better at snowboarding than me.”
Finally, on Monday she hit the red carpet premiere of Listen Up Philip joining her co-stars Moss and Schwartzman.
