Say it isn’t so!

Glee might never be the same in season five, now that four regular cast members are not returning to the show. According to E! Online, Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) will no longer be series regulars, but could make sporadic guest appearances.

In addition to the aforementioned cast members, Dianna Agron (Quinn) is also slated not to return, although there is potential for occasional guest spots. We saw less of Dianna last season since her character was demoted to a recurring role. In fact, she only appeared on three episodes in season four.

With all the shake-ups on the show, who better to consult than the woman who plays Sue Sylvester herself, Jane Lynch?

“I’ll tell you what, that’s news to me,” Jane reveals. “I don’t know anything that’s going on over there, so I love our initial cast, you know that nucleus of people who made up Glee for the first three years.”

It isn’t just that they’re leaving the show that’s making Jane miss the students of William McKinley High School.

“I haven’t seen most of them in a while,” the actress confesses. “So I’ve missed them for over a season already.”

Although Heather and the gang will continue to be missed, Jane is hopeful for the next chapter of Glee.
