Move over Ben Affleck—looks like movie fans everywhere have found a new causer to petition!
Similar to the action fans took when Ben was cast Batman, fans took to Change.org to create a petition against the casting of Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson as Christian Grey and Ana Steele in the film remake of 50 Shades of Grey—and they already collected more than 19,000 supporters!

Fans cried out in support of Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel for the coveted roles in the sexy book.
“I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too,” the petition reads. “So please PLEASE, all of the GREYsessed and Bomerettes in the world NEED those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. WE CAN DO ANYTHING GUYS, ANYTHING.”
Fifty Shades of Grey Author E.L. James Shows Support For Casting
Of course, as producer Dana Brunetti explained they can’t do anything—as there’s a lot that goes into casting.
“There is a lot that goes into casting that isn’t just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc.” he tweeted, adding, “So if your favorite wasn’t cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective.”

Of course, even author E. L. James didn’t get her first choice—actor Robert Pattinson! But still, she isn’t letting the haters stop her.
“To all the supporters, lovers and haters – thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project,” the 50-year-old mom of two wrote on Twitter. “You all rock. All of you.”
