Like Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Kirsten Dunst before him, Hollywood veteran Burt Reynolds is the latest star to battle drug addiction. The Boogie Nights actor, 73, announced yesterday that he recently sought treatment in a rehab facility for a problem with pain medication. "After a recent back surgery, Mr. Reynolds felt like he was going through hell and after a while, realized he was a prisoner of prescription pain pills. He checked himself into rehab in order to regain control of his life," the star's manager said in a statement on September 16. By sharing his story, Burt prays troubled fans will find the courage to seek treatment as well. "Mr. Reynolds hopes his story will help others in a similar situation. He hopes they will not try to solve the problem by themselves, but realize that sometimes it is too tough to do on their own and they should seek help, as he did," his manager add
ed. After a month in rehab, the actor is now home doing well.
