Anne Hathaway's ex
charged with fraud

Get Smart star Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri appeared in New York federal court yesterday and was charged with a dozen counts of wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering. The Italian businessman, who was called a "con man" and a "high potential risk of flight," was given a whopping $21 million bail package. His lawyer, Flora Edwards, told reporters, "This is one of the stiffest bail packages I have ever seen. We are going to do everything we can do meet it." Raffaello is accused of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars obtained from investors in order to fund his lavish lifestyle. He also tested positive for opiates from a urine sample early Tuesday morning; he was arrested at Trump Tower at 6 am. The judge places him under home detention with an electronic monitoring device, which only allows him to leave his apartment for legal, medical or religious reasons. Anne and Raffaello dated for four years and broke up earlier this month.
