The 48-year-old host launched into the story live on the showing, telling Kelly, "I want to say, by the way, that I have to shout you out for something that you don’t know I’m going to shout you out for. But I had this black dot on my bottom lip... you and I were at a party for [Anderson Cooper]’s mom in April. And you said, 'You have a black dot on your lip. I don’t think that’s something good.'"
"[Kelly and her husband Mark Consuelos] were dogmatic that I get it checked out and I didn’t because I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m sure it’s nothing. It’s just a black dot.’ And she kept on me," he continued.

"Finally I did and it was melanoma," he revealed. "They removed it, the whole thing, and I just want to thank you because you were so dogmatic. No, honestly. And it’s all fine, but that’s a good friend and it really taught me because I am tanorexic. I love the sun, I really do."
Anyone who follows Andy on Instagram knows that he's no stranger to the sun. In fact, he's constantly uploading photos of himself out boating, by the pool, or soaking up some sunshine at the beach.
"But just be careful. And I of course thought that that kind of thing would ever happen to me and it will change my relationship to the sun," he admitted.
"I’m an amateur," Kelly said in response. "It’s the third time I’ve picked out skin cancer on my friends."
