Following the shocking news of Alan Thicke's sudden death, his son Robin Thicke broke his social media silence.
In a simple Instagram post, the "Blurred Lines" singer opened up about his very close relationship with his father and urged fans to celebrate his life.
"My father passed away today," he wrote. "He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had. Let's rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son."
The Growing Pains star passed away at the age of 69 on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with his youngest son, Carter, 19.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya Callau, and his sons Carter, Brennan, and Robin.
The teenager took to Instagram to honor his late father, writing, “Today I love my best friend and my idol, and the world lost one of its finest. I have never known a more kind, loving, hairy, and generous person in my life and I am forever grateful for the light that this man brought to my life and so many others.
