Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice will stand trial in the Garden State on November 19.
The husband of star Teresa Giudice has several battles with the law coming up. The November 19 court date will be his trial for charges of fraudulently obtaining a driver's license. After Joe lost his license for a DUI, he reportedly used his brother's ID to get a new license, which is illegal.
Joe and Teresa aren't done with their legal woes, though. Once Joe's first trial for the ID issue is over, the couple will then have to deal with the 39-count indictment that was handed down against both of them for charges of federal tax fraud. According to the allegations, both Joe and Teresa lied about how much money they were making and forged documents like W-2s in order to obtain loans.
In a recent episode of Andy Cohen's Bravo talk show Watch What Happens Live, the Giudices both claimed to be innocent of the charges. Teresa is devoted to the couple's four daughters and said that her goal is to stay strong for them.
"Maybe something that my daughters can learn from this is, ‘My mom was really strong through all this. You know, she was there for us.’ I hope they will always have that with them," Teresa said.
Because Joe is using the same lawyer for both trials, they can't happen at the same time. The federal trial against him and Teresa is slated to begin in February 2014. Both spouses face jail time if convicted. Joe, who was born in Italy and never became a US citizen, also potentially faces deportation.
Until then, Teresa is continuing to tape Real Housewives. She is also promoting her new hair care line, Milania, and her series of successful Italian cookbooks.
