DWTS’s Chad: I found love with Cheryl

DWTS0519.jpg
NFL star Chad Ochocinco won't be going home with the mirror ball trophy from Dancing With the Stars, but he will be taking away a lasting relationship with his partner, Cheryl Burke. "I told Cheryl as long as she doesn't leave my life, I am fine," a tearful Chad told In Touch after his elimination last night. Throughout the competition, Chad showered Cheryl with gifts — including a sparkling diamond ring — though they never admitted to an actual romance. That would certainly conflict with his new VH1 reality show, Perfect Catch, where eligible women will vie for his affection, a la The Bachelor. “But the love has already been found," Chad says, referring to his bond with Cheryl, who says they’re so close, she might even come on the show to help him pick his new girl. "We developed such a really strong friendship and chemistry on and off the floor, so we'll stay friends forever,” she adds.

Don't miss next week's semifinals, when the final three couples will attempt four dances on Monday's performance show, before the winner is crowned in Tuesday's finale.

Chad Ochocinco & Cheryl Burke
Eliminated May 19

Are you glad you are going out on a high note?
Cheryl:
Chad had his strongest performance the whole season and it's like Len said, it's really hard to compete against the other three couples.

But you get to come back next week anyway, right?
Cheryl:
A producer just came up to me and said, "Okay, so we have this rumba song for you that you have to choreograph, so it's straight back to business. We don't get a break from each other quite yet!

What will you miss about being here?
Chad:
I made friends with everyone here, but there is only one that means a lot to me and that is Cheryl. The time I spent with her has been so awesome and I want to continue to grow. I'm proud of how far I made it.

What do you learn about yourself?
Chad:
Patience, for one. I had to have that and this is something I did not grasp as it takes a period of time to get it, so a lot of patience, as did Cheryl.
Cheryl: He constantly changed, especially as he improved as a dancer. It's tough. Spending every day for three months with someone, you have to find how each other works and it's been an amazing journey.

What can you tell us about your new reality show, Perfect Catch?
Chad:
I am going to have fun and continue to be me. I'll have the same smile, but it will show another side of me that no one has seen. Dancing and football are two things, this is more personal.
