There’s no denying that Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans is going through a tough time right now. After a rough few weeks, though, she did what she could to remind herself that everything would work out OK. On Wednesday, June 5, the star took to Instagram to show off a gift that her son Kaiser had given her and explain exactly how much it meant. The star may not have her kids with her right now, but she shared that they’ll be in “in her heart always and forever.” Check out the gallery below to get the latest update on Jenelle’s family.

A Scary 911 Call

As Jenelle, 27, fueled breakup rumors with her relationship status on Facebook at the end of April, reports came in that suggested that her husband, David Eason, had killed her dog.

A Heartbreaking Story

On May 1, Jenelle seemingly confirmed the rumors by posting a eulogy for her French bulldog, Nugget, on Instagram. “I’m crying every day. I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless,” she wrote.

Defending Himself

David also confirmed the story in his own way — by standing by his decision to, as he put it, “protect” his family. “Some people are worth killing or dying for, and my family means that much to me,” he said.

No Regrets

“You can hate me all you want,” he continued, “but this isn’t the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge [whether] or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”

Falling Apart?

Though Jenelle admitted that she was considering divorce in light of the incident, she ultimately decided not to take serious action when it came to her relationship. But she was the only one.

Speaking Out

In light of the incident, fans begged MTV to fire Jenelle, and other Teen Mom stars also used their voices. Javi Marroquin threw some pretty serious shade while Chelsea Houska‘s dad, Randy, compared David to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

That’s Not All

Amber Portwood urged Jenelle to make “the right decision” following the dog’s death, and Kailyn Lowry shared that she was disgusted by the news. Eventually, even the show’s network spoke out.

Cutting Ties

“MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since,” a spokesperson said on May 7. “Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”

Facing Consequences

That wasn’t the only fall out the couple had to deal with. In early May, the couple was reportedly being investigated by CPS, and by the middle of the month, her son Kaiser had been removed from the home.

Custody Struggles

Within days, a judge ordered CPS to remove all of the couple’s kids, including toddler Ensley and preteen Maryssa. The parents have been spotted in court as they fight to get their children back.

Keeping Spirits Up

Since then, the Teen Mom star — or should we say former Teen Mom star — has been doing her best to stay close with her kids, even if it’s just by posting about their milestones on social media. On May 18, she shared a photo of Kaiser in his pre-K graduation outfit.

An Emotional Memory

On Wednesday, June 5, she posted another Instagram about Kaiser. “It’s the little things in life,” she shared. “With everything that has been going on lately, I’ve come to realize a child’s love for their mother will never fade. No distance, not time, no person can change that special love.”

A Meaningful Gift

“This necklace was given to me by my little bubba, Kaiser,” she continued. “He told me he wanted mommy to ‘match his.’ My children are the sweetest and the best. 💞👧🏻👦🏼👦🏼 #MommasBabies #InMyHeart #AlwaysAndForever”

Hypocritical Words

Fans were quick to call Jenelle out, though. “A little hypocritical coming from you,” wrote one fan. “Sweetest and the best but you put them last?” questioned another, while a third continued, “That sweet child chose you over anyone. Wish you could’ve said the same.”

Problematic Parenting

Just one day earlier, Jenelle commented that her relationship with her own mom had been “destroyed” by Barbara Evans‘ response to the scandal. “You treat your mother like crap and you should be thanking her more than anything else,” commented one of the star’s Instagram followers, with others noting that Barb is the one taking care of her kids.

Called Out

Pretty much every commenter put the star on blast: “The fact that you are even posting on social media during a time like this speaks volume. If I didn’t have my kids, social media would be the LAST thing on my mind! Get your priorities straight!”

No Sympathy

Though some of Jenelle’s fans felt for her and took pity on the tough time she must be having, others couldn’t care less. “Please start choosing your kids over men,” one told her simply. “That is all.”
