Lately, rumors have been flying that Teen Mom 3 star will be joining the Teen Mom OG cast to replace Bristol Palin after the star quit the show. But when Catelynn Lowell heard the rumors on Monday, June 3, she didn’t take them very well — and she even threw a little shade Mackenzie’s way. But what went down exactly? Check out the gallery below to get all the details.

Bristol quit back in April.
The 28-year-old mom was one of two stars who joined the cast when Farrah Abraham‘s departure — but after one season, she decided it wasn’t for her.

She said it “wasn’t a fit.”
“It took away my peace,” she continued. “And honestly, my peace has a price tag that no one but God can afford.” As for that price tag, she continued, “$ doesn’t impress me, I don’t entertain BS, and walking away from this show allows God to rebuild me (and my little fam) in the right direction.”

Who could replace her?
Rumors have been swirling about who the new cast member will be ever since Bristol made her announcement. MTV star Taylor Selfridge seemed to throw her hat in the ring when she announced she’d be on the show, but it seems more likely she’ll join as Cory Wharton‘s girlfriend rather than one of the stars.

What About Mackenzie?
When it comes to new cast members, 24-year-old Mackenzie’s name has pretty much always been thrown around. Back when Bristol and Cheyenne Floyd were announced as Teen Mom OG cast members, she seemed to be upset.

She’s part of the ‘Teen Mom’ family.
When she said that she’d “been done real dirty” in September 2018, fans were pretty convinced she was talking about being snubbed by the show.

Now, she’s got another chance.
Some think she might be back in the running for a role on the show. If the producers decide that they want to have five moms on the season — as opposed to four, like they had back when Farrah was a star — they’ve got a slot to fill.

Not everyone’s a fan, though.
The show’s audience has already taken to Twitter to share how they feel about Mackenzie’s possible casting one way or another, and they’re not alone. OG star Catelynn, 27, has also spoken out.

She kept it simple.
“If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!” she tweeted on Monday, June 3, adding the hashtag #TeenMomOG to make sure that people knew what she was talking about. Just in case her message wasn’t clear, she also added that shady, “#JustSaying.”

The backlash was real.
Fans were quick to call her out on the statement, though, insisting that the show actually is “broke.” One wrote, “OG has been broke for a very long time,” while another agreed, “It is very broken as it is right now.”

Mackenzie herself even called Cate out.
When one fan insisted that Cate’s tweet was not cool, the star agreed. Though she didn’t clap back or return the shade, she didn’t let it go, either.

She called it “mean girl” behavior.
“Wow, I thought better of you, Cate,” the fan wrote. “I didn’t realize you’re such a mean girl. Yikes.” In response, Mackenzie simply agreed, “Same.”

Cate tried to walk it back.
When she saw how fans were reacting — and how Mackenzie reacted — she played it off as if her tweet had nothing to do with her potential costar. Instead, she blamed the drama on MTV, joining Briana DeJesus in calling out the network.

She explained on Twitter.
“It has NOTHING to do with Mackenzie at all!” she wrote. “it’s with the [people] that don’t explain what’s happening. I welcome anyone; just think MTV would tell us, not find out online.”

Fans called “bull.”
They insisted that the tweet had been petty — and, TBH, it wouldn’t be out of character for Cate. In September, she admitted she wasn’t a fan of Cheyenne’s casting at first either.

“She’s not a teen mom,” Cate said.
Cheyenne, 26, was already in her 20s when she and Cory had Ryder — and Cate thought that meant that she wouldn’t fit on the show. Luckily, she ended up changing her mind.

She came around.
“[After] getting to know her a little bit … with her daughter having these medical issues and her and her baby’s father, like, coparenting the way they do, I think that’s good for people to see,” Cate admitted.

They all grew to be friends.
And we’re sure the same will happen of Mackenzie does end up joining the cast — but as of right now, we still don’t know whether or not that’s actually happening. MTV has yet to make an official announcement about the cast.
