On April 30, a heartbreaking rumor started circulating in the Teen Mom world, alleging that former Teen Mom 2 star David Eason had killed his wife’s dog. Reports indicated that the police had been called to Jenelle Evans‘ house to investigate after a “frantic” 911 call, and now it seems that the family itself is confirming the news. Both Jenelle and David took to Instagram to tell some of the story. Check out the gallery below to see what the stars said and get the latest update on this news.
“A call was made today, and it was relayed that the woman’s husband had killed her dog,” the Sheriff’s Department told Radar Online. “The Sheriff is out there right now investigating and there will be an incident report filed later.,” they said at the time.

Jenelle hinted at the news.
“Feeling devastated,” she shared on her Facebook account, suggesting that something had gone wrong with the family. Though she didn’t clarify what had “devastated” her, the reports alleged that David had killed Nugget, the family’s French bulldog.

On May 1, Jenelle confirmed the death.
Though she didn’t say anything about how Nugget had passed, she mourned his loss on Instagram. “Nugget … I’m crying everyday. I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless,” she shared.

She was heartbroken.
“You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me,” Jenelle continued. “You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons. Everyday I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed… you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back. #Heartbroken #Distraught 😓😪💔”

David confirmed his side of things, too.
However, he didn’t seem to be mourning Nugget at all. Instead, he insisted that he was just protecting his kids. “I don’t give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face. … Whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog, and I don’t put up with that s–t at all,” he said on May 1.

He doesn’t regret his decision.
“I’m all about protecting my family,” he continued. “It is my life’s mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for, and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want, but this isn’t the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge [whether] or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”

He shared the post with a video.
The clip he posted features Ensley on the couch with the dog. You can watch it here, but please know that it may be disturbing for some viewers. In the clip, Ensley is cuddling with the dog on the couch as she continues to lean closer and the dog leans away. Eventually, the dog nips at her cheek to get her to stop.

David says he did it for Ensley.
Though it’s not clear whether the video depicts the most recent incident or an older one, David used it as proof that the dog was dangerous to his daughter. He also posted a photo of Ensley seemingly after the bite on the couch showing that her cheek was red and irritated.

Of course, fans aren’t impressed.
Though David turned off the comments on his posts, followers were still able to weigh in on Jenelle’s — and they think the father is responsible for more than just putting the dog down. In fact, they’re blaming him for the bite, too.

They said David wasn’t teaching his kids properly.
“So I watched the video,” wrote one fan in a comment with nearly 2,000 likes. “He full on let her put her face in the dog’s face, and he knew what was going to happen. So instead of stopping it before she got bit, he just let it play out. Get out of that relationship before something happens to you,” they continued. “He was quick to shoot the dog, so what else is he capable of???!!!”

Fans say there were warning signs.
“So I watched the video of the ‘nipping incident’ and you can clearly see this pup was uncomfortable,” another wrote. “A child should be taught boundaries with a dog. Period. He stood there recording instead of teaching her that she shouldn’t get in a dog’s face. Now the poor girl is likely terrified of dogs and the poor dog has lost its life. Disgusting. Take those babies and run. Fast and far.”

The Easons have had issues with dogs in the past.
Even when the family first got the Frenchie, their followers were worried for the dog’s well-being. Though David seems to have deleted the comments from the time, now that he is no longer in control of his old Instagram account, the responses have once more been flooded with negativity.

“Dog killer,” wrote one commenter.
“What a vile disgusting human being you are,” added another. “There is a place for people like you, and it’s called hell. You should never own an animal.” A third added, “Nugget didn’t deserve any of what happened to him. The child’s behavior was what needed to be corrected. Don’t get in a dog’s face like that. Responsible parents would know better.”

They’ve had other abuse issues, too.
Jenelle has frequently lost her temper on camera, and one time, her pup bore the brunt of her anger. MTV even added a disclaimer about animal abuse before they aired the clip of her dragging the dog by the collar across the room.

Jenelle lost custody of the pup.
Recently, the couple has also taken heat for their treatment of their new pet chickens, which the star revealed their pitbull has been attacking. “Don’t get a pitbull if you plan on having a #Homstead [because ours] just wants our chicks really bad,” she wrote.

But Jenelle didn’t want to get rid of the dog.
“He was here first,” she argued on social media. Apparently, David has no problem getting rid of the family’s pets though. Hopefully next time, he does it in a way more considerate to the dog than how he handled it this time around.
