In an exclusive statement shared with Us Weeklyon May 7, a spokesperson for the network explained, “MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since.”
Though they didn’t clarify whether they had stopped filming in early April for any particularly reason — or if the decision to oust Jenelle, 27, had been made before her recent scandal — it’s clear she’s no longer part of the series.
Fans has been calling for MTV to fire the star even since the news about Nugget, her French bulldog, first broke. “Enough is enough! #MTV needs to FIRE #JenelleEvans if [for] no other reason than to no longer put money into a place that houses her f–k wit of a #husband, David,” wrote one on Twitter.
Neither Jenelle nor David has spoken publicly about the news just yet. However, if the decision was unofficially made weeks earlier because of filming issues, this may be the first they’re hearing about it.
Jenelle’s costar, Briana DeJesus, took to Twitter after the news broke and wrote just one word, “Wow.” One fan fired back at Bri, “There’s a whole lot of people who know a right decision was made and that her kids can now be saved hopefully too.”
Fast forward to now, and viewers have been left in outrage after hearing about Nugget. The shocking incident involving David was first reported on April 30, and it was claimed that a “frantic call” was made to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Department.
Jenelle revealed that divorce was “in her thoughts,” but said no decision has been made yet. Meanwhile, David released a statement defending his choice to shoot Nugget, explaining that this wasn’t the first time the dog snapped at their two-year-old daughter, Ensley.
