‘Teen Mom 2′ Star Jenelle Evans’ Mom Takes Ensley and Jace to the Beach for ‘Coast Guard Day’ Amid Custody Drama

It seems like grandma Babs is doing her best to give the kids some semblance of a normal life while they wait to learn if and when they can go back to living with mom Jenelle.

On June 1, she took them for a fun day at the beach with an educational twist. “Having fun at Coast Guard Day, eating hot dogs, frozen ice, and learning about rescue equipment,” she wrote beside a photo of Jace and Ensley climbing on a boat.

The kids were all smiles during the trip, which also included their cousin. It seems like Barbara is doing a good job keeping their minds off all of the drama!

Fans were thrilled to see them out of the house and having a nice time. One wrote, “They look so healthy and happy!! Thank you for stepping up and saving them!!” Another agreed, saying, “You are doing an awesome job with your Grandchildren. These days will be great memories for them.”

Others hoped to see Babs back on Teen Mom 2, even though MTV announced they had no more plans to film with Jenelle. “Just because Jenelle is gone Barb should not be punished. Step up #mtv,” said a follower in the comments.

Babs has been working overtime to make sure the kids have a fun summer regardless. One week earlier, she shared this photo of Ensley with Jenelle’s brother, writing, “Oak Island, NC with Jace, Ensley and my son Colin. Having fun🤩”

But that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten the severity of the situation. On May 12 she posted this throwback photo of Jace with the caption, “2 weeks ago when everything was great.”

Meanwhile, Jenelle seems to be occupying herself with her gardening after Ensley, Kaiser, and stepdaughter Maryssa were taken out of the home by CPS. “#Homestead living 👩🏻‍🌾💓” she captioned this photo on June 1. The post also seemed like a show of support for her husband, as she’s clearly sporting her wedding rings.

Babs has had custody of Jace for years now, but it must be more painful to take charge of Ensley too, especially since she just recently reconnected with Jenelle. They posted this photo in January, and things seemed better than ever between them.

While she’s kept mostly quiet about her thoughts on Jenelle’s current situation, she has been vocal about her appreciation for fans’ unwavering support. “Thank you for all your love and support, it means so much to me ❤️,” she commented in early May.

On May 13, Jenelle confirmed that her son Kaiser has been taken by CPS. She told Us Weekly at the time that she was “fighting” to get Kaiser back, and that her mom had been keeping Jace away from her, even on Mother’s Day.

Not long after, Ensley and David’s daughter Maryssa were also removed from the home.

CPS began investigating Jenelle and David after the already-fired Teen Mom dad shot and killed their dog Nugget in cold blood in front of the kids for allegedly nipping at their toddler.

Despite saying she was “speechless” and “heartbroken” by little Nugget’s death, Jenelle has chosen to stand by her man, rather than going somewhere else to stay with her children.

It’s unclear how long it will take for Jenelle to get custody of her kids back, if ever.

But they’re definitely in good hands with Babs in the meantime.
