The family’s dog killing scandal may have strengthened Jenelle Evans‘ relationship with David Eason, but it seems to have taken everything else from the former Teen Mom 2 star. The latest casualty is a canceled launch party she’d planned for her new makeup line, JE Cosmetics. Though the MTV star denies that the party’s cancelation has anything to do with her reputation or her family’s actions, the venue seems to be telling a different story. Jenelle Evans Denies JE Cosmetics Launch Party Canceled

Dog Drama

Though David, 31, has been the source of scandals pretty much since he started dating Jenelle, 27, nothing made bigger waves than the incident where he allegedly shot and killed the family dog.

Major Backlash

After he seemingly confirmed the news on his Instagram, fans quickly came forward to ask MTV to take action against the stars. “Enough is enough!” wrote one fan.

Speaking Out

Jenelle’s costars also began to add their voices to the fray online as Javi Marroquin threw shade about how he had “trained [his dogs] well,” and Taylor Leonard straight-up called David “sociopathic, narcissistic and, on top of it, violent.”

Losing Work

Within a week, MTV finally addressed the issue. “We have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season,” the network said in a statement shared May 7.

Custody Case

The incident also lead to an investigation by child protective services. All of the family’s kids were removed, and the parents lost temporary custody of their children.

Family Matters

Though Jenelle eventually regained custody of her kids, it wasn’t without damaging her relationship with her mom, Barbara Evans. The 27-year-old said their bond was “destroyed” — and she even called 911 on Babs after she claimed she heard Ensley “screaming and crying” over the phone.

Same Side

Despite all that, Jenelle claims that she and David were closer than ever. “We were on bad terms for almost a week,” she admitted in July. “Now that we are getting over this incident, our relationship has got a lot stronger.”

JE Cosmetics

Her makeup company, unfortunately, isn’t faring quite so well. The star had planned a launch party for September 9, 2019 — but now it seems it won’t be happening. The venue that was set to host, Flirt Beauty Boutique in New York City, was the first to address the rumors.

Canceled

In a now-deleted post, they announced that the event would not be happening. “Our salon was unaware of what [Jenelle] and her husband have done or have been connected to,” Flirt Beauty Boutique shared on their account. “In no way would we support such brutality. We apologize for not doing our research before hand.”

Fake News

The star doesn’t seem to agree with that story, though, and took to Instagram to share her own side. She claimed that the event wasn’t canceled, just postponed, and that it was actually her choice.

“My [JE Cosmetics] launch is a private event,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Sunday, August 18. “Now that the location was leaked/posted without consulting me about it, we have decided to cancel our venue and change locations.”

Moving Forward

Sharing the post to her feed, she continued, “I know there are a lot of rumors circulating about the @jecosmeticsinc launch. … Preorders will begin before [the launch, which] soon will be announced. The launch party I’ve decided to do is a PRIVATE event. Do not believe the rumors others are posting onto their pages or into the media.”

Standing Her Ground

“No matter what I decide to do or no matter what happens … @jecosmeticsinc will launch to everyone soon and NOTHING will stop us! 🎉💓💯,” she added. “On a side note, how can someone ‘cancel’ my event when I’m the owner? 😂”

Company Updates

Of course, fans aren’t sure what to expect since the official Instagram for the makeup line hasn’t been updated in over a month. Though the account promised they were “prepping for [the] launch” in July, Jenelle hasn’t yet given fans a new date.

Party Problems

As of now, JE Cosmetics’ account still promises that products will debut on September 9 at New York Fashion Week, but the website that had previously been registered in the company’s name, JECosmeticsInc.com, has been repurposed to get #JusticeForNugget and raise awareness about rescue animals.

Fan Hate

Meanwhile, some fans are celebrating the news on Twitter, the social media site Jenelle recently said she was chased off of. “This is going to be the biggest flop ever,” one Twitter user said about the “postponed” party. “You do know nobody believes you?” snapped another. Ultimately, though, it all seemed to come down to comments like this: “Don’t worry. It all will eventually be canceled just like you.”
