‘Teen Mom 2’ Alum Jenelle Evans Loses Temporary Custody of Her Kids: She ‘Failed to Protect’ Them

As of now, the couple’s kids will not be returning to The Land. The North Carolina judge reportedly found Jenelle and her husband to be “not credible.”

On top of that, the judge also told Jenelle that she did not do her job “as a mother to protect her kids,” according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

Sparking Backlash

Jenelle and David have been at the center of controversy following his jaw-dropping dog killing incident in April. Not long after, a judge ordered for all of her children to be removed from the family’s home.

Losing Temporary Custody

The 16 and Pregnant alum begged the judge to give her and David back their kids, but found out the temporary ruling while appearing in the Columbus County courthouse on May 28.

Living Situation

Jenelle’s son Jace as well as daughter shared with David — Ensley — are currently with Jenelle’s mom, Barbara Evans. Jenelle’s son Kaiser is reportedly with his father Nathan Griffith, and David’s daughter Maryssa is apparently with her maternal grandmother.

So, how is Jenelle coping with the big news? “She was devastated and shocked,” an insider told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

“She was very confident that the judge would give them back the kids,” the source added. Jenelle was reportedly sobbing in court when the judge announced the ruling.

It seems the testimony influenced the decision as “CPS described the state of the home as horrific. It was filthy, and there were holes in all of the walls,” another source told Radar.

Turmoil at Home

“The judge heard testimony that David and Jenelle were constantly screaming and arguing, and the children were terrified,” the insider also claimed.

Staying Together

When it comes to Jenelle and David’s relationship, it appears she’ll be sticking by his side. During her last interview, Jenelle said that she’ll only consider getting a divorce if he refuses to go to marriage counseling.

Dog Drama

As we previously reported, the CPS investigation started after David shockingly shot and killed their dog Nugget. He later defended his decision, claiming it was to protect his family since this wasn’t the “first” time Nugget snapped at their daughter Ensley.
