’90 Day Fiance’ Stars Andrew Kenton and Amira Lollysa Split: Find Out What Went Wrong

Are Andrew Kenton and Amira Lollysa still together? The 90 Day Fiancé couple faced obstacle after obstacle during their love story in season 8. Keep reading to find out everything about their current relationship status.

How Did ‘90 Day Fiance’ Stars Andrew and Amina Meet?

Amira and Andrew met online and started dating long-distance. The couple met in person for the first time during a trip to Las Vegas, where Andrew proposed. Shortly after, her K-1 visa (which would allow her to travel to America as Andrew’s fiancée) was approved in March 2020, the U.S. placed a travel ban against European countries — including her native France — at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

What Happened During Season 8 of ‘90 Day Fiance’?

With the expiration date for Amira’s visa quickly approaching, this left the couple scrambling to find a way for the French beauty to make it into the U.S. so they could start their lives together. In a scene that aired on TLC in December 2020, Andrew explained to his mother that he had found a “loophole” in the travel ban via an online message board for other K-1 visa couples affected by the pandemic. It appeared the Northern California native was the one who insisted that Amira fly into Mexico, where he would meet her so they could self-quarantine together for 14 days before traveling to America at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Shortly after the scene aired, the daycare owner took to Instagram to accuse the production company, Sharp Entertainment, of “frankenbiting” — which is when producers on a reality show try to “improve” a storyline by using “highly selective editing” to fit with a specific narrative. He denied being the one who came up with the “loophole” idea, but that didn’t stop him from getting tons of backlash online.

When Amira arrived in Mexico, she was detained by authorities. Not only did fans think Andrew was the one who “pressured” Amira into agreeing to the plan, but they felt he didn’t do enough to help her once he learned she was detained by making phone calls from his resort room. Instead, he stayed in Mexico and enjoyed the vacation solo — full of sightseeing, fine dining and massages — while she was deported back to France after being held for three days in a detention center.

After she returned home to France following her detainment ordeal, there were 40 days left on her visa before it expired and Andrew insisted they come up with another plan. He immediately suggested they try another way to be together: Amira would have to travel alone to Serbia, self-quarantine in a hotel for 14 days and board a flight from there to the United States. At first, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to go through the whole ordeal again but eventually decided to do whatever it took to reunite with Andrew.

The couple got into a big fight the day before Amira was scheduled to fly to America. During a video call, Andrew started to list off things they could do once Amria arrived — which included visiting his sister, Connie, who was pregnant at the time. Amira said ever since Andrew’s sister announced her pregnancy, he’d been “obsessed” with having children of their own and kept asking her for a “timeline” of when she would want to start their family.

“I want our relationship to be in a good place before we bring kids into the picture,” she said in confessional, after telling Andrew they fought too much and she didn’t feel comfortable bringing a child into their relationship if they were struggling with issues.

That night, Amira revealed their differing views on having children led to a bigger fight. “Just a few hours before my flight to the U.S. to finally reunite with the love of my life, Andrew calls me and picks a fight with me the whole night,” she said, crying. “He’s telling me it’s not working out between us. We are not on the same page about having children. I am so hurt right now because Andrew is the man I want to spend my whole life with … I am in shock.”

Andrew texted Amira information about another flight he purchased for her the following day, which would take her back to France. The camera zoomed into their WhatsApp conversation, in which Andrew wrote: “You’ve been given a lot more rope to hang yourself with so it’s on you. The children at the daycare are far better team players. You make your choices. You shoot yourself in the foot. If you’ve got any talking to do, I strongly suggest you engage me now. My time is limited!” When Amira didn’t respond, Andrew added, “It’s been 30 minutes from my initial offer to help. I have but 60 more seconds in me. 5, 4 …”

Despite Andrew’s messages, Amira decided to board the flight to the U.S. instead. When she told him about her plans, he told her he was still upset and that she would be greeting “an angry fiancé” when she touched down. Right as Amira was about to board the flight, she suffered a panic attack and decided to turn back around. She called her father for support, and he advised her to make the right decision for herself and her future.

“I decided to go back to France,” she confirmed. “I was so proud to call Andrew my future husband and now, it’s over.”

Are ‘90 Day Fiance’ Stars Andrew and Amira Still Together?

In the time since the end of their relationship has played on TV, a lot has gone down between the exes.

In November 2021, Amira was linked to a new love interest after being spotted with a mystery man in Las Vegas.

“They made an appearance together at Vanity Beauty Boutique,” an insider told In Touch at the time. “Where there were photographers taking pics of her.”

Meanwhile two years after their 2020 split, Andrew revealed he was auctioning off the engagement ring he previously used to propose to Amira. The France native had mailed the gorgeous Neil Lane emerald back to Andrew shortly after their split played out on TLC.

“It was a beautiful emerald ring that Amira and I spent a long time customizing. It’s made of white gold and a big emerald sits on top surrounded by beautiful diamonds,” Andrew told In Touch in August 2022. “Amira and I went and had the ring appraised a few years back and it was worth about $8,000. Amira really loved that ring.”
