Jenelle Evans and David Eason may be considered one of the most controversial couples to ever appear on Teen Mom 2, and they have certainly gone through their fair share of ups and downs over the years. The reality star went public with David back in 2015, and they later got married and had their own child together. Despite reconciling after a brief split in March, Jenelle revealed she and David broke up again in June. Back in 2015, Jenelle revealed that she had moved on romantically after parting ways with her ex Nathan Griffith. The MTV alum met David on Tinder and she posted a flirty selfie with him that September.

“Dinner last night,” she captioned a photo of them. At the time, they were getting along fabulously and sparks were flying. Jenelle and David even went “muddin” together on a rainy day.

By August 2016, the couple shared some big news with the world. Jenelle confirmed that she was expecting her third child — which happened to be her first with David.

Jenelle already had a son named Jace with former flame Andrew Lewis at the time. She also had another son, Kaiser, with her ex Nathan. David had a daughter and son of his own named Maryssa and Kaden.

Facing Criticism
David was let go from TM2 shortly after taking to Twitter with some homophobic remarks. The network released a statement confirming that his comments “do not reflect the views of MTV.”

Lesson Learned?
Jenelle later defended David and said he didn’t realize it would cause such backlash. She claimed that David agreed he will “keep his comments to himself from now on.”

Turmoil at Home
Unfortunately, the couple made headlines again in October 2018. She accused David of assault during a tear-filled 911 call. Afterwards, Jenelle claimed it was a “drunk and dramatic misunderstanding” to E! News.

Break Up to Make Up
In the following months, Jenelle and David were the subject of swirling split rumors. She fueled the speculation by changing her Facebook status to “Separated” in February 2019.

Controversy Continues
It seemed the couple was really on the verge of a breakup when shocking reports surfaced in May, revealing that David shot and killed her dog Nugget for snapping at their daughter, Ensley.
Not long after, it was announced that MTV “stopped filming” Jenelle. The network was no longer planning on covering her story in the wake of the scandal.

Custody News
In May, Jenelle and David also temporarily lost custody of the kids amid the fallout. After several court appearances, it was revealed the two regained custody rights in July.

It’s a Wrap
Despite their efforts to work things out, Jenelle confirmed that she and David split on October 31, 2019, after two years of marriage.
“The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know thats what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process,” she wrote.
“I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together. But you’ll hear from us again soon.”

Giving It Another Go
Back on. After much speculation, Jenelle finally confirmed on March 21 she is back together with David. “Yes. Me and him are deciding to work things out right now. We’re taking it slowly,” she said during a Q&A video on her YouTube channel. Time will tell what happens next.

“You will always be the love of my life [Jenelle],” David wrote in a sweet Instagram tribute to his wife on March 31, 2020. “I’m so happy that we have become so close and bonded recently. Here’s to a lifetime of our own kind of quarantine, boat rides, ATV trails, living off the land, etc. I don’t think we are going to have a hard time staying secluded, LOL. We already have been for a while.”

Another Split
Jenelle confirmed she and David broke up again after he was arrested for “assault with a deadly weapon” and “communicating threats” on June 12, In Touch confirmed.
“I’m shaking and saddened by this. It’s time for me to move on from this relationship and find happiness for my kids and myself elsewhere,” she said in a statement to Celebernation.
