With a bright future together in mind, Jay and Ashley decided it would be best it they moved to the States together. Around that time, she took to social media with a heartwarming post.

“This girl and this wedding is the reason I met [Jay],” Ashley gushed about her friend. “It was a beautiful wedding and an amazing vacation! This trip changed my life in so many ways and my life wouldn’t be what it is today without YOU!”

Was it all wedded bliss? Well, not exactly. Ashley revealed in the first episode of the reality show that she’s been engaged twice before — and called off both weddings after she was cheated on.

Despite her past heartbreaks, Ashley still decided to get married to Jay. Their wedding in Las Vegas was shown on 90 Day Fiancé in December 2018 … and tension was soon brewing.

In January 2019, Ashley heard about all the confusion regarding her nuptials to Jay, so she took to social media to clear up some misconceptions about why no one can find a public certificate in the Vegas records.

“We scheduled our original wedding on the 88th day after Jay arrived to America,” she wrote, while sharing a photo of her marriage certificate dated May 16, 2018.

“Due to canceling our original wedding plans so last minute (as you saw on the show during the wedding registry incident) and having my kids that weekend, we could not go to Vegas before the 90 days were up.”

All the Details

“Jay and I went to City Hall in Harrisburg, PA, said our vows, then flew out to Vegas for an actual ceremony a week later,” Ashley explained. The marriage was later certified on May 22, 2018.

Having Second Thoughts?

On January 11, Ashley filed papers to end her and Jay’s eight-month-long marriage, after sharing some cryptic messages on social media. However, she ended up withdrawing the paperwork.

Get Well Soon

That same month, the mother-of-two was hospitalized for the second time in weeks for complications from lupus, and was being treated for kidney failure. Despite the tension in their relationship, Jay rushed to be by her side.

Jay later expressed his regrets for causing her any pain in a since-deleted Instagram post. “I may have hurt you,” he wrote. “I may have not been a good husband. Jumping on a plane the second I found out you was in the hospital was something I didn’t even think twice to do.”

Clearing the Air

In February, Ashley broke her NDA and revealed that she and Jay never actually called it quits. “Jay and I have never separated since we were married,” she wrote, revealing that being honest meant she wouldn’t get paid for filming the spinoff, Happily Ever After? “We were made to act as if our relationship was no longer active.”

Trouble in Paradise

However, shortly after Ashley said they were doing “better” than ever, the season 6 couple found themselves at odds again. She took to her Instagram Story on April 15, to expose Jay for allegedly cheating on her for a second time.

Ashley claimed that he went to a strip club with her car and her money, and she threatened to get him deported. Insiders exclusively revealed to In Touch that Ashley is ready to file for divorce from Jay again and this time, it’s for good. We’ll have to wait and see what happens!
