She’s come so far. 90 Day Fiancé star Ashley Martson exclusively spoke with In Touch about her health these days and we have great news, 90 Day fans! It sounds like she’s doing better than ever. Check out what the reality TV personality had to say about her well-being after she had to have surgery earlier this year in our gallery below.
Ashley, 31, and Jay Smith were one of the many couples on the most recent season of TLC’s90 Day Fiancé. It looked like they might still be filming for the franchise, according to some pictures of what seemed to be a film crew in Ashley’s living room that she shared to her Instagram Story on March 11. But Ashley said the photos were just “throwbacks” from filming the show.

Stronger Than Ever
The couple has faced some struggles over their time together, like any couple. Ashley gave an update on their relationship to fans on Instagram on February 26 and said they are doing “better” these days.

Divorce?
At one point, it looked like Jay, 20, and Ashley were going to get divorced. On January 11, Ashley filed for divorce from her husband after only eight months of marriage.

Change of Heart
However, she then reportedly withdrew her divorce filing from Jay less than two weeks after turning in the paperwork, according to Us Weekly. Did the 90 Day Fiancé star have second thoughts?

Being There
Though it’s not always obvious exactly where Ashley and Jay are at regarding their relationship, one thing is clear: Jay has done a pretty good job of being there for his wife through her various health challenges.

Fighting a Tough Battle
In November, Ashley shared that she has lupus. She took to Instagram to explain why she looked under the weather in an episode of the reality series, and wrote, “A lot of people are asking why I look so sad and like I was crying for days in last night’s episode. This photo was taken hours before that filming. I had a reaction to a medication for lupus and my eyes and my neck were [completely] broke out. They gave me steroids to help it, but it wasn’t completely gone. I was battling this the entire rest of the season so I just wanted to address it.”

So Sick …
Ashley also shared with her social media followers on December 12 that she was quite ill. “Hi everyone, I hope you’re staying warm! Just a quick note to say thank you to all the @cameo requests and the products sent for endorsement. I am, however, very sick at the moment. I’m not ignoring you. Please standby until I’m out of the hospital,” she wrote on Instagram.

Back at It
In February, Jay explained to Instagram fans that Ashley was unfortunately back at a medical facility. That time, she was in the hospital for six days straight. Poor thing!

Kidney Failure
Before that, poor Ashley experienced “acute kidney failure” in January. She wrote on Instagram on January 13, “I was found unresponsive this morning at my home. The ambulance took me to the hospital where it was found that I am in acute kidney failure due to lupus. I will begin dialysis shortly.” How scary.

Getting Ready
Later that month, Ashley shared that she would “no longer be doing any new promos, endorsements, cameos, or any PR as of February 8.” Why? Because she needed to prepare to undergo surgery to deal with her pressing health issues.

Taking Care of Herself
Ashley also said she wanted to focus on her “health, family and recovery.” That’s certainly a worthy goal, especially when you’re dealing with a chronic illness.

Doing Better!
As of now, the 90 Day Fiancé star is apparently doing much better! She told In Touch exclusively that following surgery, “My health is improving each day and I’m finally able to start living normally again.” Such great news!

Feeling Hopeful
She added, “With this procedure, it should keep me out of the hospital for a long time.” We’ll keep our fingers crossed for her!

Keeping It Light
Even her social media posts seem to reflect Ashley is in good spirits! She shared this cheeky photo of herself with her kids where she’s wearing an “I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom” t-shirt on Instagram on March 14. Too cute!
