90 Day Fiance’s Deavan and Jihoon Are Facing Serious Struggles in Season 2 of ‘The Other Way’
Having déjà vu? Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee first graced our television screens while appearing on season 1 of the TLC spinoff, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, and now they’re starring on season 2. Despite their language barrier and cultural differences, Deavan and Jihoon initially overcame the obstacles they faced, but now they’re hitting some major speed bumps. How Did They Meet?
Like many other couples from the franchise, the duo met on a dating app. Their chemistry was instantaneous, leading them to talk on a daily basis for three months. After getting serious, Jihoon flew to America to see her in person. She was from Salt Lake City, Utah, while he was from South Korea.
When Did They Get Married?
The pair tied the knot while making their debut on the show in 2019. Jihoon and Deavan were originally married on paper, but they later had a traditional Korean wedding known as a “Paebaek” with his loved ones present for the special occasion. Afterward, they had a traditional American wedding so her family could also attend.
Why Did They Move to South Korea?
In October 2019, the brunette beauty shared the reason while taking to Instagram with a statement about her relocation. “We have decided to move to Korea so I could be a stay at home mom and raise the children. This wasn’t an option in America until Jihoon could learn English. As well, I was in danger,” she explained. “And America became a very unsafe place for me due to a family member.”
How Many Kids Do They Have?
Deavan and Jihoon share a baby boy, Taeyang, and she also has a daughter, Drascilla, from a previous relationship. Because she has full custody of her daughter, Drascilla lives with the couple.
Are They Still Together?
In August 2020, Jihoon confirmed he and his wife went their separate ways. “So I can’t tell everything because the show [is] not finished. They will be happy and I need to be happy. Just, I will live my own life,” he said. “If you lost [a] lover, boy [or] girl. So sad, but you can start again.”
He continued, “We are living our own life, that’s our future. … So just keep watching. Just keep [supporting] [me] getting [a] better life and please pray for Deavan and Taeyang, [for] their family life.”
What Are They Up to Now?
As of April or May 2020, Deavan moved back to the United States with the kids, and she hinted it was for a “horrible reason,” promising the “truth will come out eventually.” Jihoon seemed to be similarly struggling as he faced hate from fans and shared that he may take a break from social media to focus on himself. “I need a lot of change for myself. I promise I’ll show you a better side of me when I come back,” he said in August 2020. “Until then, be healthy and happy. Thank you very much.”
Does Deavan Have a New Boyfriend?
In August 2020, a source confirmed to In Touch that Deavan is already in a new relationship after her split from Jihoon. The model is dating an aspiring actor from Los Angeles named Topher Park. The new couple sparked dating rumors after Deavan shared a photo of him on her Instagram story, obscuring his face from fans.
