She’s speaking out about her past. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Deavan Clegg revealed the real reason why she decided to move to Korea in a vulnerable new Instagram statement, claiming that she wanted to escape a “dangerous” family member who allegedly tried to “kidnap” her while pregnant. The TLC alum said that people have been wondering about her decision to relocate, considering the fact that her husband, Jihoon Lee, could have easily moved to the United States instead. Deavan and her long-distance love, Jihoon, opened up about their budding relationship while appearing on season 1 of the hit reality spinoff. Fans watched as she moved from Utah to Korea to be with Jihoon.

At the time, the brunette beauty was pregnant with their first child — a son named Taeyang — who is now six months old. Deavan also has a daughter, Drascilla, from a previous relationship.

Viewers speculated that Deavan decided to pack her bags to simply start a new life with Jihoon in Korea, but she’s now revealing there’s a lot more to the story and a reason why he didn’t come to the U.S. instead.

“I was waiting for the tell-all, but they never showed it,” the TLC alum wrote while taking to Instagram, noting how she’s finally ready to share her story with the world.

Deavan implied that a lot of people have reached out to find out why she relocated, even addressing how Jihoon can “realistically move to America at anytime.”

“We have decided to move to Korea so I could be a stay at home mom and raise the children,” the reality star wrote. “This wasn’t an option in America until Jihoon could learn English. As well, I was in danger.”

Deavan claimed the United States became a “very unsafe” place for her because of a relative. “This family member tried to kidnap me and steal my car while I was pregnant,” she alleged.

The mother of two said this was the deciding factor in their choice for her to move to Korea. “My family member is a dangerous person,” Deavan continued.

“Last Monday we did end up losing our baby,” the reality star revealed. “We are heartbroken and focusing on healing.”
