Wedding Bells for Kate Gosselin? ‘Kate Plus Date’ Star Reveals Whether She’d Ever Get Married Again
It’s been a long time since Kate Gosselin was on the dating scene. But now that her eight kids are nearly grown, she’s taking a dip back into the dating pool on her own TLC show Kate Plus Date and she’s just warming up to the idea of being in a relationship again after a whole decade of being single. During a recent interview with Fox News, the 44-year-old revealed that she’s even considering the possibility of marriage although she says she doesn’t, “like the ‘M’ word.”
“Everybody keeps saying that and that actually gives me like anxiety and panic honestly,” the reality star told Fox when asked about her feelings on getting remarried. “But I mean, again, that’s a situation we’ll deal with it when we get there, and I don’t even think that by the time somebody is talking about getting married if it’s right, I don’t, it’s obviously not going to cause me anxiety and panic. So, I can’t say yes, and I can’t say no.”
As a devoted single mother, Kate put dating on the back burner. Since dating after divorce is a hardship for anymore, Kate thought a show on the dating life of a divorcee would resonate would a lot of viewers. “I’ve been divorced for 10 years and it felt fun and exciting and it was actually my idea because there is more than, I mean there’s many single parents out there, and a lot of them are too, like me, too tired to date, too exhausted, busy taking care of your kids and that’s how I found myself in that position in the first place,” the Jon and Kate Plus 8 alum said.
Kate was married to Jon Gosselin for 10 years before divorcing in 2009. The two share eight kids together, Mady and Cara, 18, as well as the sextuplets — Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Joel, Aaden and Collin, 15.
Kate says her children fully supports her dating and have discussed the idea for years now. “My kids have talked about it probably, over the years, more than I have,” Kate said. “It’s a topic of dinner conversation. It’s a topic that comes up more than people probably would realize, and they want me to be happy and they don’t want me to be alone.”
Kate Plus Date airs on TLC Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
