Today, there is one less little monster in the world.
Pop sensation Lady Gaga announced on Twitter that her childhood dog, Alice, died last night; she was 17 years old.
The singer, 27, was in London promoting her album, ARTPOP, and stepped out in an all-black outfit appropriate (in a Gaga way) for a funeral; on Twitter, Gaga lamented being away from her dog in her time of need, saying “she should’ve been there.”
“I love being an entertainer but it is so painful sometimes to be away from home,” she wrote.
Lady Gaga added that she had to put her 17-year-old pooch down after Alice fought against cancer; ultimately, the performer shared with fans that she hopes her pup is in a better place now.
“I just pray Alice found her wonderland,” she tweeted.
My puppy Alice died. We had to put her down, cancer ate away at a little angel. My daddy is so sad, we all are, lost a member of our family— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) October 30, 2013

I remember her laying my bed, she knew when I was sad, or when I was sick. I should have been there. I just pray Alice found her wonderland.— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) October 30, 2013
