A convicted sex offender in Florida has become a very rich man after winning $3 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket he purchased at a 7-Eleven for $20.
Timothy Poole, 43, took home $2,219,807.90 in the form of a one-time, lump-sum payment.
In 1999, Poole was arrested and accused of sexual battery on a 9-year-old. In a plea bargain, he pleaded guilty to attempted sexual battery and was sentenced to 13 months in jail and 10 years of probation.

He was sent back to prison for three years when he missed his mandatory sex offender counseling sessions.
While he’s “no longer under any form of confinement,” he remains on Florida’s sex offender registry.
In a statement to the ‘Orlando Sentinel,’ communications manager for the Florida Lottery Shelly Gerteisen said, “We chose to not draw additional attention to this particular winner.”
