They may have decided to give their relationship another shot, but it looks like Bear Brown and Raiven Adams won’t be making it down the aisle after all. On Thursday, October 31, the model revealed on her Instagram Story that she and the Alaskan Bush People star had called it quits. While the two were taking a hiatus from the photo-sharing site, they hashed out their relationship and decided they’d be better off as friends.

“Me and Bear split when we took a social media break,” Raiven, 21, told her fans. “We just wanted to get on good terms without all the input. We are doing well and still excited to be parents! Some people aren’t meant to be together … and we want to do what’s healthiest for our baby.”

On October 13, Bear, 32, shared with his followers that he and his then-girlfriend would be “off Instagram for a little while.” Though he didn’t give a reason, some fans wondered whether or not the break had anything to do with a breakup. The last time Raiven left social media, it gave her the opportunity to hash out where she and her ex stood. After going public with their engagement at the end of August, calling it off by September 9, announcing their pregnancy a few days later and then being chased off Instagram by haters shortly after that, the model needed a few days to process everything in private.

After she returned to the online platform, Bear announced that they would “give [their relationship] another shot.” Unfortunately, it seems like things just still weren’t right between them, and the statement Raiven shared this time around closely mirrors the one she posted before. “Me and Bear have decided to stay friends,” she wrote at the time. “Sometimes two people are meant to be in each other’s [lives] … but not in the way they thought.”

In light of the new Discovery Channel star’s announcement, Bear’s post about facing tough times makes even more sense. When he made his own return to Instagram on October 21, he did so with a Martin Luther King, Jr. quote. “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy,” he wrote. “Always remember!”
