He’s setting the record straight! After Ashley Martson accused her soon-to-be ex-husband Jay Smith of cheating on her, he’s speaking out. The 90 Day Fiancé star didn’t take too kindly to his ex’s implications that a woman she called a “homewrecker” was the one who destroyed their marriage. In fact, he’s calling the whole allegation “a total lie” in a statement shared with In Touch on April 30. Check out the gallery below to see just what Jay had to say about the cheating scandal.

Recently, Ashley’s had a lot to say.

The fallout all seemed to start around mid-April, and on April 15, it spilled into the public sphere. On her Instagram Story, Ashley, 33, put her husband on blast for going out to a strip club, writing that he was “cancelled.”

She accused him of messing around.

“It’s all fun [and] games until your ass gets deported,” she wrote on a photo she snapped from home. “Have fun at the strip club with MY money and MY car you’re driving around without a license!” She tagged him in the post to make sure he saw it — and even added a “Bye Felicia” gif.

And she just kept going.

A few days later, Ashley seemed to confirm she’s single with a little help from her costar Larissa Dos Santos Lima. She also left the drama behind for an evening when she headed out for a girls’ night with some of her IRL friends on April 19.

She had nothing nice to say.

Soon enough, she was filing for divorce from Jay, 19, for the second time. In interviews, Ashley called the split “very dramatic, very messed up” and told In Touch that fans are “going to be shocked” when the details finally come out.

But she wasn’t sharing specifics.

Though the drama happened after they finished filming 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, she hinted that she couldn’t talk about everything until after the show had aired. It seems likely that the drama will continue to play out in real-time, though — especially if Jay gets deported.

She called his deportation “his problem.”

Though she showed some empathy for her ex and expressed that she didn’t want him to have to return to Jamaica, she said that his deportation would be his fault. “The reason why he would be deported is for what he chose to do,” she told In Touch on April 25.

Of course, that was then.

Just a few days later, the star seemed to discover even more about the cheating situation — and she decided to put someone on blast. Only she wasn’t going after Jay. Instead, she was slamming the woman she accused him of cheating with.

Ashley called her a “homewrecker.”

In a since-deleted Instagram post where she compared a photo of Jay in a backyard to a photo of a woman in the same backyard, she accused them of going behind her back. She was particularly snarky towards the woman.

It got real.

“When you want to text my phone about stealing my husband but don’t want to expose yourself, make sure I don’t have cop friends that can find out who you are,” Ashley wrote on the social media site, adding the hashtags #homewrecker, #goodluck and #nowyoureinstafamous.

Was that who Jay cheated with?

A source close to the situation told In Touch that the tattoo artist had been seeing the woman for “months,” but now he’s disputing that claim himself and calling it a “total lie.”

He says Ashley’s timeline is wrong.

“That’s a total lie right there,” he told In Touch in an exclusive statement shared April 30. “I started talking to her on April 10. … And when I started talking to her, Ashley and I were broken up already.”

The star says he was already single.

Apparently, he and Ashley had broken up even earlier than her first April 15 post. Though that was when she first put him on blast, he says they’d split even earlier. He also recently denied rumors that he’d gotten someone pregnant while married.

Fans flooded Ashley’s DM with the question.

They wanted to know whether or not her ex really had knocked someone up. Though she didn’t weigh in, Jay eventually did. On April 27, he hopped onto Instagram Live so that he could speak directly to his followers.

He denied everything.

In the video, he said that he was not a “little boy” and definitely not “that stupid” that he would get someone another girl pregnant while married to Ashley. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he didn’t cheat at all.

Jay has a history of cheating.

Back in December 2018, the star’s first cheating scandal was exposed. Jay had been speaking around behind his wife’s back to talk to women on Tinder — and he even had plans to meet up.

The couple moved on then.
