Ashley and Jay were first introduced to fans on season 6 of TLC’s hit reality TV series, 90 Day Fiancé, where they documented the 90 days leading up to their wedding on May 16, 2018.

But they experienced issues in their relationship very early on, even before the wedding.

Ashley’s former best friend Natalie claimed that while they were on vacation visiting Jay in his home country of Jamaica, she overheard him say that he was allegedly having sex with two other women while he was with Ashley.

But because Ashley and Jay’s relationship was still long distance at the time, the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania native felt that Jay could get a free pass for any infidelity.

“Maybe I don’t care what Jay does when I’m not over there. What he does in Jamaica when I’m not there is not my business,” she added. “Honestly, if Jesus came down from heaven right now and said he cheated on me, I wouldn’t do anything about it. But if Jay cheats on me here in the U.S., I would have to send him packing and back home.”

And it didn’t take long for Jay to break Ashley’s trust while on U.S. soil with his first cheating scandal.

Just days after they returned to Pennsylvania from their elopement ceremony in Las Vegas, Ashley found out that Jay had created a Tinder profile and was using it to talk to other women in the area.

Though Jay didn’t actually physically cheat on Ashley, she claimed she saw inappropriate messages between him and another woman where they made plans to hook up with each other in Ashley’s own home.

Ashley was understandably upset but she couldn’t kick Jay out of her home because he didn’t have anywhere to go. While she ultimately decided to let him stay, the tension caused by Jay’s cheating scandal still followed them to NYC when they filmed the season 6 90 Day Fiancé tell-all in November.

But in her followup update in December, Ashley was very honest about the fact that she didn’t see the marriage working out.
“I’m just really unhappy in my marriage right now, I don’t know if I want to continue it. I still have not filed his paperwork for him to stay here and get a green card,” she told producers.

After the holidays, it seemed like Ashley finally made up her mind. She officially filed for divorce from Jay on January 11, but she had a change of heart and withdrew the paperwork on January 22.

It seemed like Ashley was willing to give Jay a second chance and they tried to work on their marriage — but Jay betrayed Ashley’s trust yet again with his second cheating scandal.

On April 15, Ashely took to Instagram to publicly call Jay out for allegedly cheating on her. She claimed that he went to a strip club with her car and her money, and she threatened to get him deported. Jay declined In Touch‘s request for comment at the time.

Since Jay is a Jamaican citizen who immigrated to the United States on a K-1 visa, he was eligible for a green card after he married Ashley.

But if Ashley filed for a divorce, it would put his green card in jeopardy. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with the exes after this most recent split.
