She’s trying to move on. 90 Day Fiancé couple Ashley Martson and Jay Smith are no longer together, and this season is apparently going to be one heck of a rollercoaster ride. So, why did they split? Well, the blonde beauty exclusively told In Touch that people will be surprised when they find out the actual reason. The 31-year-old couldn’t divulge too many details as to what went down between her and Jay, but it sounds like things took a turn for the worse. “It was very dramatic, very messed up,” she said at the Hemp Garden CBD infused MASK skincare launch in New York City on Thursday, April 25. “But I am sure America is going to be shocked.”

The Pennsylvania native said that she is leaning on her friends and family right now. “They support me,” she dished. Her mom even attended the New York City event with her.

Luckily, Jay, 20, is out of her house and the former couple is no longer living together. Ashley isn’t even sure where he’s residing right now.

Ashley and Jay only communicate in certain circumstances. “I mean, we talk when we have to,” she said. “Just about important things — like paperwork.” Hmm … deportation papers, perhaps?

However, even though her life post-split life is messy right now, she wouldn’t trade her time on the show for anything. “I don’t regret doing any of it because I loved him, and you live and you learn.”

It’s Over
If you ship Ashley and Jay together, we wouldn’t hold your breath since it doesn’t sound like either of them want to make this work. When asked if she wanted to get back together with him, she said, “No.”

Ashley and Jay first appeared on season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé. The pair tied the knot on May 16, 2018, and documented the three months leading up to their wedding.

It’s no surprise that Ashley and Jay didn’t work out. They’ve had a lot of relationship issues since the beginning. Ashley’s former best friend Natalie claimed she overheard Jay say that he was allegedly having sex with two other women while he was with the mom of two.

“Maybe I don’t care what Jay does when I’m not over there. What he does in Jamaica when I’m not there is not my business,” she said at the time. “Honestly, if Jesus came down from heaven right now and said he cheated on me, I wouldn’t do anything about it. But if Jay cheats on me here in the U.S., I would have to send him packing and back home.”

Just days after the two eloped in Las Vegas, Ashley found out Jay had created a Tinder profile and was talking to other women. Even though Jay didn’t physically cheat on Ashley, she claimed she saw inappropriate messages between him and another woman.

The End Is Near
In December, Ashley admitted that her relationship probably wasn’t going to work out. “I’m just really unhappy in my marriage right now,” she told producers. “I don’t know if I want to continue it. I still have not filed his paperwork for him to stay here and get a green card.”

Change of Heart
Ashley officially filed for divorce after the holidays on January 11, but then later withdrew the documents on January 22. It seemed like Ashley was ready to give Jay a second chance, but unfortunately, he cheated — again.

What Will Happen Next?
Ashley claimed Jay went to a strip club with her car and money, and she threatened to get him deported. In Touch confirmed that Ashley filed for divorce for the second time, meaning it would put Jay’s green card in jeopardy.
