’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Sumit Is Getting a Divorce From His Wife: ‘Yes, We Are Separated’
Taking action. Sumit dropped a bombshell about his marital status while appearing on the explosive 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way tell-all segment which aired on October 21. The TLC alum joined the special via video chat and announced that he’s officially getting a divorce from his wife, while also revealing they are separated at the moment.
Sumit was put in the hot seat about his love life following the drama that took place on the recent season. When the host, Shaun Robinson, asked for an update, Sumit confirmed that he’s decided to call it quits with his wife.
“Yeah, we are separated,” he said. “And she already filed a case against me.” As viewers may recall, Sumit’s new flame, Jenny, found out that he was already married to another woman and Jenny even had an awkward interaction with his bride at one point on the show. After discovering that Sumit was technically off the market, Jenny left him behind in India.
Even though Sumit has ultimately decided to pull the plug on his marriage, Jenny’s costar Corey expressed his utmost concerns. “I think he could easily be lying about this entire situation because he had a wife and was able to lie about it,” Corey explained from backstage.
However, this didn’t seem to deter Jenny’s viewpoint about Sumit as the reality star confirmed she would likely get back with him when he is determined to be legally single. “That’s our plan. We do want to be back together,” Jenny said, revealing that she is also considering relocating to India again once his divorce is finalized.
Afterward, Jenny’s daughter, Christina, vented her frustrations about their relationship. “I guess it’s hard because she has to live her own life. But that doesn’t mean I’m always going to be standing by your side to bail you out of everything,” Christina said.
Jenny later addressed how she’s always shown support to her daughter, and Christina agreed, but she noted how that didn’t change the past heartbreak that Sumit had caused her mother.
“He’s definitely worth it, and you know that Christina,” Jenny replied. At that point, Sumit chimed in to prove how much he really cares about Christina’s mom. “She’s my love, I love her a long time. And we will be together,” he said.
Of course, the host also made sure to ask the question on everyone’s mind. “Are you at all concerned that Sumit lies very well?” she wondered. “He does lie very well, yes he does,” Jenny admitted. “I don’t know how to explain it, Sumit. You do tell a lot of lies to a lot of people and you are very good at it.”
At the end of the episode, Jenny clarified her stance in the confessional.
“First thing, Sumit needs to get his divorce going, which he’s doing right now. We love each other so much and we’re still together and we plan on being together,” she said. “But I’m not gonna wait forever.”
