Déjà vu! 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem is known for bringing high drama to the TLC series in her story line with her explosive long-distance husband, Michael Ilesanmi. But long before she and Michael started to share their love story and journey on reality TV, Angela previously appeared on the Maury talk show — not once, but twice!

Angela was first introduced to Maury viewers during a dramatic episode which aired on February 20, 2015. Angela’s daughter Scottie Deem and Scottie’s then-boyfriend Terry also appeared on the segment. At the time, Scottie and Terry just welcomed a a daughter, however Angela strongly felt that Terry was not the father of her grandchild and thought that Scottie’s ex-boyfriend, Chris, was the father instead.

“I’m here today to prove that my daughter’s boyfriend, Terry, is not the father of my grand baby Anna,” Angela said in her confessional, playing a villain character. “I know my daughter had a one night stand with Chris two weeks before she got with Terry.” Later in the episode, host Maury Povich read the paternity test results out loud and announced that Terry was indeed the father of Anna.

The Georgia native stopped by the show again for a brief segment on the “Mother’s Day Update” in May 2015. In November 2016, Angela, Scottie and Terry all returned for a second full episode. At the time, Scottie and Terry had welcomed another daughter, Ariah, but Angela did not think that Terry was Ariah’s father either. Angela was once again the villain and she received a chorus of boos from the audience when she made her entrance. Once again, host Maury read the paternity test results which determined that Terry was the father of Ariah as well.

Fast forward three years later. Angela and Michael made their debut on season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in 2018. The couple previously met via Facebook and quickly started dating in a long-distance relationship. Angela documented her first trip to Michael’s native country of Nigeria for the first time on season 2, which was full of ups and downs.

The pair continued to share their love story — which includes major highs and major lows — on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 3, season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé and season 5 and 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? After Michael’s K-1 visa was denied, the couple was only left with one other option: that they wed in Nigeria so that Angela could apply for the CR-1 visa, which allows the spouse of an American citizen to legally enter the United States and obtain a green card.

Angela and Michael got married in a traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony in January 2020. That March, Angela filed for Michael’s visa. Unfortunately, the global coronavirus pandemic reached a peak not long after and the couple experienced major delays in the process amid the lockdowns.

They are set to make their big return to the franchise on season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? It seems like the stress of the delayed visa process and their long-distance marriage causes even more tension in their already tumultuous relationship. In a super teaser for the season, Angela was seen breaking down Michael’s car after yet another one of the couple’s blowout fights — and some of Michael’s family members even had to intervene to separate the couple as they got into each other’s faces during a screaming match.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
