Back in September 2018, 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Angela Deem‘s daughter was charged with child molestation and rape. Now, Scottie Deem has been convicted — and on three separate counts. According to offender records obtained by In Touch from the Georgia Department of Corrections, the TLC personality was convicted on three offenses of child molestation, all cited as taking place on July 1, 2017. She’s serving three concurrent 20-year sentencs, and she began her prison time in Pulaski State Prison on February 1, 2019.

Though the sentences are long, it’s less harsh than it seems. The 90 Day Fiancé star only has to serve the first two years and one day “in confinement” and will be released on probation for the duration of the time. Considering the fact that she was originally arrested on 13 different charges, it’s even lighter. “Ms. Scottie Deem, a good friend of the family, had Juvenile at her home while her boyfriend was out of town,” read a 2017 police report. “While the Juvenile was there with her and her children, Ms. Deem had sexual intercourse with Juvenile.” According to Radar Online, the 34-year-old reality star was accused of “committing [multiple] indecent act[s] to [victim], a child under the age of 16 years.”

Though her lawyer revealed to Radar that she would be pleading not guilty, the convictions didn’t work out in her favor. Though TLC has yet to comment on the conviction, fans are already wondering whether her mother will continue to appear on the show — and how Scottie was allowed to film at all. According to Paul Staehle, one of the show’s other stars, the network did conduct thorough background checks. “So then they ran my criminal background check, that came back with a lot of questions. So production and TLC both did a very thorough background check on me,” he said. “TLC especially takes that very seriously.”

Scottie, however, was never cast on the show in her own right. Instead, her mom, Angela, is the one featured — and Scottie was a supporting cast member as she helped her mother navigate the tricky TV romance. Though the police report was filed more than a year before the charges were filed, TLC had been teasing further appearances with Scottie just one day before the news broke. On September 26, 2018, they wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “Hey #90DayFiance fanatics! Do you have something to ask Scott, Angela’s daughter? Or Dean, Tarik’s brother?
