Drama is popping off! The highly anticipated new 90 Day Fiancé spinoff, The Family Chantel, will be premiering on July 22, and fans finally got a taste of what’s to come with the intense new trailer. Chantel Jimeno (née Everett) and her husband, Pedro Jimeno, are eager to create a life together in Atlanta, but it looks like the tension between their loved ones may tear their relationship apart. Tough Times

Chantel and Pedro’s romance was put to the test during season 4 of Happily Ever After? and the drama surrounding them is far from over.

Sticking to the Plan?

As you may recall, Chantel previously visited the Dominican Republic, and found out about Pedro’s family’s alleged plans to marry an American girl in order to obtain a green card.

Overcoming Obstacles

Looking ahead, Chantel tells her family about his questionable intentions, which instantly raises a red flag to them. Even so, she tries to save her marriage.

Seeking Help

Fans know that Chantel and Pedro’s loved ones are constantly at odds, and in the new trailer, they try to work out their issues by going to therapy together.

Turmoil at Home

“I want you to be my father, and you to be my brother, but it [not] can be like this,” Pedro says, while venting his frustrations to her relatives and their therapist.

Not Having It

The tension later reaches a boiling point when Pedro reveals that his mom and sister would like to come to the U.S. and live there permanently. “Why the hell would I let her live with me?” Chantel asks.

What’s the Deal?

Chantel’s sister, Winter, and her relationship with Jah is also addressed in the sneak peek. They’ve been together for five years, and Chantel wants to know why she knows nothing about him after all of this time.

Awkward Interaction

Drama really starts popping off after Chantel and her family fly out to the D.R., especially when she meets up with Coraima following that wild dancing episode.

“I still have visions of Pedro slinging that girl all over the dance floor,” Chantel admits in the confessional.

Speaking Her Mind

“I know that you want to go over to the corner over there to make your money,” Chantel says to Coraima, clearly throwing shade. It gets so heated between them that Chantel even throws water in her face.

Wedded Bliss?

At one point during the trip, Chantel ends up meeting with their mutual friend Obed Corporan, and he exposes a bombshell about Pedro’s family.

Questions Arise

“His family, they are like trying to get Chantel and Pedro together to get him papers,” he says. Chantel then asks, “So why are they trying to break us up now?”

Tense Meeting

When Chantel’s family comes face-to-face with Pedro’s family, it gets even more intense. Pedro’s sister says that her brood is “horrible” and it soon becomes a screaming match.

Trouble Is Brewing

“We’re about to get into it in the alley,” Chantel’s mom responds, while getting up to walk away.

Relationship Struggles

At the end of the trailer, Chantel and Pedro are at odds and he blasts her for “running away” from their problems, yelling, “That’s all you can do, because you live in the past.” Yikes!
