Julianne Hough Shares Cryptic Quote About ‘Feeling Stuck’ After Brooks Laich Split
Tell us how you really feel. Julianne Hough shared a cryptic quote with fans one month after announcing her split from Brooks Laich.
“When feeling stuck, depressed, anxious or hopeless, try taking your attention off of yourself and helping someone less fortunate than you,” read the message shared to the Dancing With the Stars alum’s Instagram Story on Monday, July 6. “Selfless acts of service ignite life force energy in the giver.”
The couple announced their breakup in May after three years of marriage. “We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate,” the longtime loves said in a statement to People at the time. “We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward.”
The duo raised concern in March after they decided to quarantine separately during the coronavirus pandemic. Brooks, 37, fled to their home in Idaho to shelter in place until he seemingly returned to Los Angeles in time for his birthday in June. While Julianne, 31, quarantined in L.A., she was spotted on a walk with Chronicles of Narnia actor Ben Barnes on April 16.
The former professional athlete was “OK” spending time apart from his wife until he learned she was spending time alone with another man. “Brooks still loves Julianne and wants to make their marriage work, but the bottom line is they’re not on the same page,” a source exclusively told In Touch in April. “She’s too out there for his liking and he can’t keep up with her wackiness and unconventional views on life.”
Although the former flames broke up, it appears Brooks is still on good terms with his ex’s family. The podcast host was spotted spending his birthday with Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough, one month after the duo announced their separation.
Julianne and Brooks appeared to have a solid relationship after tying the knot in 2017. According to another source, they began to experience “marriage woes” in January. During their time as husband and wife, they “matured into different people,” the source told In Touch, but “that doesn’t mean they still don’t love each other deeply.”
