Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson Celebrate Their First Anniversary With the Prettiest Little Picnic
They made it through the first year! Josiah and Lauren Duggar (née Swanson) have had an eventful 12 months of marriage, but when their very first wedding anniversary rolled around, they celebrated in style. The young Counting On stars knew they had to do something special to honor the occasion, so they packed up a picnic and headed out for a “romantic evening.” Packing steak, potatoes and some juice, it looks like they had the perfect meal under the summer sun.
“Simple … but romantic,” the couple called the #summerevening celebration on Instagram on Sunday, June 30, sharing photos of their meal and of each other. The couple’s sister-in-law Anna Duggar couldn’t help but agree, commenting, “So romantic! Happy anniversary!” Josiah and Lauren’s Instagram followers were fans of the plan, too. “Simple and romantic is the best kind of anniversary dinner,” wrote one. “Love the use of the reclaimed pallet!” added another. “Happy anniversary!”
Even we have to admit that that pile of pillows, pallet and all that green grass looks pretty much perfect. We also love the little details the couple added to make the picnic special. The framed photo from their wedding along with the flowers, candles and real dishware add a touch of class — especially for a family who so often uses paper plates. Though the Duggars are almost always dealing with at least some social media backlash, it seemed like even the family’s haters were charmed. “This is actually really nice,” admitted one commenter. “And the food looks good.”
In addition to their anniversary, the couple also has plenty to celebrate. After suffering a miscarriage in 2018, they shared the happy news that they were expecting for a second time in May 2019. A month later, they revealed that they have a little girl on the way, and fans are already busy suggesting baby name ideas. With more than a few girls on the way for the ever-growing family, we’re sure they’ve already heard it all, and we can’t wait to hear what they pick.
