Boy or Girl? Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson Reveal Their Baby’s Gender
Surprise! Josiah Duggar and his wife, Lauren Duggar (née Swanson), revealed to Us Weekly that they are expecting a … baby girl! “We are so grateful that God has blessed us with a sweet baby girl!” the couple told the outlet. “If she only knew how loved she is already and how many people are already praying for her! She truly is a gift … a miracle from God.”
Lauren, 20, had blood work done to determine the sex of her future child, and she gave the results to her sister, Lily. At the gender reveal party, balloons were filled with white, pink and blue confetti, but Lily surprised everyone by hiding one balloon in the back with the real answer: pink confetti.
The couple tied the knot back in June 2018, but unfortunately suffered a miscarriage in October. “A couple months ago, we found out that we were expecting, but suddenly thereafter, we lost our baby,” Lauren said at the time.
However, three months later, the Counting On stars revealed they were expecting their first child together — a rainbow baby! “God’s faithfulness to us in our most difficult moments has sustained us and brought us such love and comfort,” they told Us in May. “We cannot begin to tell you how much we are looking forward to holding this baby in our arms this fall. Every good and perfect gift is from above, and we are looking forward to this new season of parenting together!”
Josiah, 22, had a feeling that his wife had a bun in her oven. “I went to the store and got a test, because I thought for sure she was probably expecting and sure enough she was,” the TLC personality wrote on the Duggar family blog.
Of course, Lauren was so excited by the news. “We were both overjoyed and just crying because we’re just so thankful for another sweet blessing,” the brunette beauty said.
