Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar Share a Smooch to Celebrate 5 Years of Marriage
They’ve got five years of marriage under their belts, and Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar are clearly just as in love as ever! Nearly a week after the Duggar daughter posted about their anniversary celebrations, the lawyer-to-be shared a message of his own. On Sunday, June 30, the former Counting On star took to Instagram to share some photos of their previous weekend away. He also took the opportunity to send a little love to his wife.
“Can’t believe it’s already been five years of blissful marriage with this beautiful woman!” Derick, 30, wrote on the social media site. “I love you more every day, @jillmdillard. 🤗😘❤️” To fans, he continued, “Here are some pics from our recent celebration in [Branson, Missouri].” The photos included a shot of them kissing, Jill, 28, in jail, the couple checking out a candy store and chillin’ on a giant chair.
Based on that steamy smooch and the previously posted ~bedroom games~, we’re betting they had a pretty romantic weekend. The Duggars are no strangers to PDA, and they’ve frequently been caught kissing on camera, whether that’s on social media or their various TV shows and specials from over the years. The Dillards are no different. In fact, Jill’s post from June 25 even revealed that they’d been reading the Kama Sutra. If your first thought is that an activity like that doesn’t seem Duggar-approved, though, well — you’d be right.
“For those who saw this post and all the comments about the Kama Sutra … We wanted to clarify!” the mom of two wrote on her Instagram Story, pointing out that she’d amended her photo caption to explain what they think of the book. “We are not recommending the Kama Sutra,” she clarified. “We believe marriage is ordained by God and husbands and wives should filter everything they read and hear together through the [lens] of the Bible and not practice anything unbiblical. The little book pictured is a modern, smaller, cleaner, edited version that doesn’t focus on spiritual aspects, homosexual, or other extramarital relationships … We’ve not read the actual Kama Sutra and only promote biblical marriage (i.e. between a man and woman who are married).”
Welp, it’s good to know the family is staying true to their brand with a Christian version of the Kama Sutra. After Jill recommended that her followers have (married) sex often and wear lingerie (for their husbands), we thought she might be getting a little wild. As it turns out, though, this is all pretty in line with mom Michelle Duggar‘s advice to always be joyfully available to your man (that is, as long as you’re married). Jill may be leveling up her style game and wearing shorts, but she’s still the same girl at heart.
