Jim Edmonds and Meghan King Edmonds Agree to 50/50 Custody Amid Divorce: ‘Jim Is Thrilled’

After threatening to duke it out in court, Jim Edmonds and Meghan King Edmonds have come to an agreement in their custody battle. A source close to the couple exclusively revealed to In Touch that the parents, who share three young children, settled on 50/50 joint custody of their kids. The deal was worked out between the former couple’s lawyers, and though Meghan is “not happy” with the arrangement, Jim is apparently “thrilled.”

“Meghan didn’t want Jim to get equal/joint custody, but that’s exactly what happened,” the insider told In Touch. “She expected him to get less because she’s been saying he can’t handle it, but he’s doing just fine.” According to the source, the parents “have not been in front of a judge yet, but attorneys agreed upon a ‘parenting plan'” that accounts for at least some of the upcoming holidays. “She has them this Thanksgiving, and he gets them next year.” Meghan and Jim have yet to respond to In Touch‘s request for comment.

Since the news of the split broke, Jim, 49, has been making a point of spending time with his children. On November 17, he revealed that he’d shared a daddy-daughter date with his 22-year-old, Hayley. “I took my first steps outside in a while last night with my beautiful daughter Hayley,” he captioned a photo of them. “Trying to repair a broken situation and heart that should not be broken. For all you people out there that think that I would be with our nanny, you [need] to get a life! I have a family and kids to worry about and that’s my only worry right now. Everyone else, BYE!”

News of the former Real Housewives of Orange County couple’s breakup came on October 25, just days after Meghan, 35, allegedly accused her husband of having an affair with the family’s nanny. Following those reports, the nanny denied any inappropriate relationship and Jim publicly slammed the claims as “disgusting.”  Despite that, the father of five revealed on October 30 he was “tremendously” sad that his “wife was hurt” and seemed to extend an olive branch over social media.

By November 6, however, things turned ugly again as Jim called the cops on his ex. A source close to the couple exclusively revealed to In Touch that Meghan showed up “late and drunk” to her estranged husband’s house while he was home with the kids. And she wasn’t alone. According to the insider, she was with a man who “crashed his car into a cement wall as he tried to pull out of the driveway.” They continued, “That’s when Jim had had enough.”
