Jim Edmonds ‘Ended Up Calling the Cops’ on Meghan King After She Showed Up ‘Late and Drunk’
The turmoil continues. Jim Edmonds called the cops on his estranged wife, Meghan King Edmonds, after she showed up “late and drunk” on Wednesday, November 6, while he was at home watching the kids, a source tells In Touch exclusively. The former MLB star was worried about the welfare of their children because the guy who drove Meghan back from the bar allegedly “crashed his car into a cement wall as he tried to pull out of the driveway.”
“That’s when Jim had had enough, he ended up calling the cops,” the insider said. “Cops interviewed Meghan last night at 10 p.m., specifically asking her if she was in the right condition to be caring for the three young children in the home.”
Us Weekly was the first to break the news of the welfare check.
As far as the events leading up to the ordeal go, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 35, apparently told her ex that she was going to be back around 7:15 p.m. However, she allegedly texted Jim, 49, to see if she could stay out for a bit longer to have another drink. Meghan was reportedly at a bar that was only a mile away from their property.
Sources tell us that Jim refused in his response to Meghan, because he needed to take care of his other two children. “When she wasn’t home at 10 p.m. he had to let the babysitter go home. Meghan did not know that Jim was still at the house. She left her car at the bar and a middle-aged man pulled up into their driveway and Jim confronted them,” the insider claims.
The guy who drove her was speculated to be intoxicated, but he was not arrested as he was out of the vehicle by the time authorities arrived. When the cops showed up, a wellness check was also allegedly done for Meghan. No charges were filed because police determined that she was able to care for her children.
There’s been no shortage of drama between the former flames ever since it was announced on October 25 they were splitting after five years of marriage and three kids. Jim was the one to file for divorce from the Bravo star.
Prior to that, it seemed Jim and Meghan were dedicated to rebuilding their relationship in the wake of his sexting scandal this summer. Amid the controversy, Jim said that he “engaged in an inappropriate conversation” with another woman, but claimed it never became physical. Since then, the former athlete was accused of cheating with one of the family’s four nannies, Carly Wilson, something both he and Carly denied.
Meghan has yet to comment about the events that transpired between her and Jim, although she did post a new video on Thursday, November 7, showing their daughter, Aspen, singing and drumming in the car.
