He’s really spilling the tea. Derick Dillard has been exposing all sorts of interesting tidbits about Counting On and the Duggar family lately, and just revealed that he and his wife, Jill Dillard (née Duggar) will not be returning to the show unless there are some major alterations made.

Back on December 4, a fan tweeted at Derick, 30, “On the latest episode we saw Jill. It was nice to see her. Is there a chance in between your studies you and Jill will be seen? Hope you find answers soon and are doing well. I pray your school studies are going well.”

Derick replied on December 26, “No chance of that unless something changes. The conditions we were filming under took us to the brink of sanity and could have easily destroyed our lives if we had continued that trajectory. We are now trying to pick up the pieces.” That sounds really serious and stressful, actually.

Just a day later, the law student shared photos from his Christmas with Jill, their two sons — Israel and Samuel — and what looked like at least one of Jill’s brothers. He also continued to answer some pretty probing fan questions in the comments.

“[Do] Jill and Derick go to her parents’ house? I see so many pics of [the] Duggar family, but they aren’t [ever] in the pics,” one person asked. Derick responded, “We’re not on 19 Kids and Counting anymore.” Someone else pointed out, “[Jim Bob] and Michelle [Duggar] have worked their way back on, so Jill and [her] fam should be able to also!” That prompted Derick to reply, “We’ve never had any contact with TLC, hence not knowing there was a contract. Nobody from TLC has even mentioned to us what they would prefer that we say or not say.”

He later added, “For a long time, Jill and I were under the impression that the family didn’t make any money from the show, but, rather, it was presented to us kids as something that was done as a ministry that TLC periodically subsidized in the form [of] reimbursements for things like gas, restaurants, travel, etc. … But not any actual pay on top of that.”

Jill’s husband also shockingly revealed that while he and Jill still spend time with her side of the family, “it’s harder now because [they’re] not allowed at the house when JB isn’t there.” He noted, “Jill even had to ask JB permission to go over to the house to help her sister when she was in labor because her sister wanted her help, but Jill couldn’t provide the assistance until we got it cleared with JB.”

It seems like there’s definitely some family tension going on with the Duggars and Dillards, and Derick isn’t afraid to talk about it on social media.
