According to Radar, the call came in on December 23, just before the holidays. Jenelle, 27, called 911 and spoke with Columbus County Emergency Services as she told the operator that her husband was “freaking out.”

Scary Story
Sounding out of breath, Jenelle could be heard saying, “He’s outside freaking out because he thought I took his phone, so now — I have a She Shed … I have a She Shed, and he’s f–king … He’s outside.”

Breaking In
“He’s smashing our front door right now trying to get inside,” she continued in the recording. “I’m upstairs in my attic. My daughter’s in her bedroom sleeping, and he said I locked him out and took his phone.”

Always Armed
“He was outside looking for his phone after he got upset [about] an article … He’s outside smashing stuff,” she said. When the operator asks if David “has a weapon,” Jenelle admits, “He has a gun that he carries all the time.”

Hiding Out
“He broke my front door,” the star claims. “I don’t know how my front door looks … I’m in the attic. … I’m right about [daughter Ensley’s] room right now. She’s sleeping. I don’t want her to wake up right now.”

Eyes on Ensley
When the operator asks who’s watching her then-almost-2-year-old daughter, Jenelle explains she’s still nearby. “I’m right here at the steps. … I’m looking at her door right now from the attic steps.”

Another Call
But as it turns out, Jenelle wasn’t the only one who reached out to the authorities. Based on the end of the recording, it seems that David also reached out to 911 asking them to do a welfare check on his wife.

Screening Calls
Another 911 dispatcher can be heard explaining that David is “trying to get back” to the house after reporting that he’s been out driving. “He’s just saying that she won’t pick up the phone. That’s why he wants the welfare check, right?” the operator asks.

Checking In
“He said he’s worried. It rings two to three times then goes to voicemail. It shows that she’s on Facebook [and] that she should be answering a phone call,” the other dispatcher explains.

Not Worried
The original operator doesn’t seem to be too concerned by the other call, though, even laughing at one point. “We have a lot of traffic with them,” she tells the dispatcher who spoke with David.

Cause for Concern
However, it seems like there may be reason to worry. Though Jenelle tried to recant the story she told in her October 2018 call, where she claimed she heard her collarbone crack after she said David “pinned her down on the ground,” there might be proof that things did get physical in December.

Fan Sightings
After hearing the claims Jenelle made in the December 23 call, one reddit user remembered something strange that had been posted on the site months earlier. Also on December 23, a fan claimed to have seen David buying a front door at Lowe’s.

Door Shopping
Sharing a screenshot of the photo on their phone, they revealed that the sighting had taken place at 1:02 p.m. at the University Centre shopping complex in Wilmington, North Carolina on December 23, 2018.

Missing Timeline
Though it’s not clear when on December 23 Jenelle called 911, and David buying a front door may be unrelated to allegations that he smashed the one he shared with Jenelle, it’s possible that the incident she was reporting happened earlier in the morning or even late the night before.

Other Clues
There was even more sleuthing to be done. In addition to the fan siting, another reddit user pointed out that we’d seen damaged doors in Jenelle and David’s houses before. In season 8 of Teen Mom 2, as the couple prepares to move, a dent in a bathroom door can be spotted.

Punching Doors
Though we don’t know what happened to cause the dent, it certainly looks as though it could’ve been made by someone “smashing” the door as Jenelle accuses David of doing in their new house on the 911 recording.

Domestic Dispute
Though the 911 call itself isn’t new, fans suspect that it may be of increasing relevance during Jenelle and David’s custody case. The couples’ kids were ordered to be removed from their house by CPS in mid-May. If a judge rules that their home is not a safe environment for them to return to, the parents may lose custody permanently.
