A few short months after his wife, Beth Chapman, passed away, Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman is experiencing some major medical issues of his own. Over the September 15 weekend, the Dog’s Most Wanted star was rushed to the hospital after experiencing some kind of heart emergency. Though it’s not clear yet if he had a heart attack or some other kind of cardiac event, he may need to undergo surgery to address the issue. “I can confirm Dog is under [a] doctor’s care and is resting comfortably,” a representative for the star told In Touch. “Thank you for all of your well wishes — keep ’em coming.”

According to TMZ, sources said the star had been experiencing chest pains before his hospitalization. Though none of the family members have publicly spoken out yet, the Dog the Bounty Hunter star’s grandson Cobie Chapman shared an Instagram Story where he seemed to reflect on life. “Ask yourself every morning, ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?'” read the inspirational post as it referenced a Steve Jobs quote.

Despite that, it seems there isn’t too much to worry about. Duane, 66, has already made his triumphant return to social media. On Monday, September 16, he shared a post to his feed and his Story promoting his addiction helpline. A day before, he shared a post from friend Rainy Robinson. “Make life grand,” Rainy had captioned the post, a throwback photo of Duane and one of his daughters sharing a sweet kiss. But his online activity didn’t stop fans from sharing their concerns after they’d heard the news.

As fans wrote that they were sending healing prayers and keeping the bounty hunter in their thoughts, one decided to share a message they had for the star. “Dog! You have to take care of yourself! That’s what Beth would want!” they wrote. “We want you here for a long time, my friend! Feel better soon, OK?”

Health issues aside, moving forward after Beth’s death is no easy feat. In an interview with In Touch, he admitted he’s been struggling, even when it comes to tasks as simple as fixing his hair. “Never did I think it’d be this bad [without her],” he admitted. Luckily, the blonde bombshell’s pups have been a comfort to her husband, and the star can still see his late wife any time he wants. After all, all he has to do is turn on the TV.
