ExclusiveDuane Chapman Reveals Beth’s Dogs Have Been a Comfort After Her Death: ‘They Know Mommy’s Not There’

By his side. Duane “Dog” Chapman is still trying to cope with the death of his beloved wife, Beth Chapman, and he revealed that her dogs, Lola and Duke, have actually been a great comfort for him during this tough time. While chatting exclusively with In Touch, the WGN America alum gave an update about his life and shared how the pooches are also grieving the loss of Beth. Watch the exclusive interview in the video above for more details on how Lola and Duke are showing him love.

“They’re in Hawaii and I’m in Colorado and I want my dogs cause they know mommy’s not there and they come to me and they just will not leave me. They’re like boom, boom — like two lions, they walk around,” the Dog’s Most Wanted star, 66, said. “At 9:30 they come and tell me come to bed.”

Duane explained that he needs the dogs with him as much as possible, especially because they were her dogs. “[Beth] slept, you know, one side me, the other, she facing the bed, her side’s always the left and they get like on her side one night — she would not let them in the bed,” he explained. “Only the blind dog she let in the bed — But the other two, no. But now, they’re right where she slept and then they put their noses and all that under the sheets.”

The reality star also told a sad story about Beth’s oldest dog who is vision impaired and waits in the bathroom every night for her. “He sits right by the toilet all day long. I called [Cecily] last night and said, ‘Where’s OG?’ She goes, ‘He’s in the bathroom again’ because that’s where mom would come in to use the bathroom coming in, you know, from doing something. And he got her right there. So he just can’t see a thing and he’s just sitting there waiting for her,” Duane told In Touch.

Duane’s wife, Beth, sadly passed away on June 26, 2019, after a long battle with cancer, but she’s continued to inspire fans with her strength and bravery. In the wake of her death, the reality star and his loved ones have honored her with a memorial service in Hawaii and Colorado.

She is clearly so missed.

Dog’s Most Wanted premieres on Wednesday, September 4 at 9 p.m. ET on WGN.
