The rumors picked up again in August 2023 as it was revealed on 90 Day: The Last Resort that Asuelu cheated on his now-estranged wife, Kalani Faagata, with an unidentified woman at a bar during a visit to his father in his native Samoa. Fans started speculating that Winter was the woman Asuelu cheated on Kalani with, but were they ever romantically involved?

Asuelu, who made his 90 Day Fiancé debut with Kalani on season 6 of the flagship series, first sparked dating speculation with The Family Chantel star when they were spotted on April 21, 2023, at a nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia, with several TLC stars, including 90 Day Fiancé’s Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren and The Family Chantel’s River Everett and Chantel Everett. 

While the group enjoyed a private bottle service, fans couldn’t help but notice Asuelu and Winter getting close in the background of the video clips shared on social media — sparking major romance rumors. 

At the time, Asuelu and Kalani’s relationship status was unknown. They had already sparked split rumors in June 2022 after the Samoa native shared a lengthy message about why his wife was absent from social media. 

“[She] don’t wanna join my Live, she doesn’t want [to] film TikTok with me. She’s different from how she used to be. She doesn’t wanna go out with me. Everything she needs I supply for her, [especially] the boys,” he wrote in the caption of an Instagram video post of an old clip of him and Kalani dancing together.

The 90 Day Fiancé couple fueled the rumors when Kalani moved with their two children to California in October 2022 and Asuelu hopped on a plane to Samoa that same month. However, Asuelu reunited with his sons at a California hotel in December 2022, and Kalani was also present. They did not comment on their relationship status.

Rumors about Asuelu and Winter picked up again in August 2023 thanks to 90 Day: The Last Resort. Kalani revealed on the show that she found out Asuelu had cheated on her in Samoa by accepting oral sex from an unnamed woman. He contracted thrush, an oral yeast infection, from the act, which Kalani noticed during a FaceTime call. Rumors swirled that Winter was the mystery woman, but this seems unlikely as Asuelu’s Instagram indicates that his trip to Samoa was in fall 2022, months before he was seen with her.

Asuelu quickly shut down the April 2023 rumors about him and Winter. One day after their night out, he addressed the speculation in a TikTok Live.

“No, I am not dating da Winter [sic],” the TLC personality, 27, responded via a TikTok Live session on April 22. “Oh my goodness gracious.”

Winter also shut down the rumors, telling In Touch exclusively on April 25, 2023, “I’m extremely vexed over the outcome of this situation. To each their own, but personally, I desire a mature and authentic partnership.”

When the rumors resurfaced in August 2023, Chantel indirectly responded by posting her sister’s earlier statement to In Touch on her Instagram.
