’90 Day Fiance’ Star Ariela Weinberg Thinks Biniyam Shibre Is ‘Hiding Something’ From Her
Trust issues. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Ariela Weinberg and boyfriend Biniyam “Baby” Shibre got into a tense fight because she felt that he was not being truthful or faithful ahead of her family’s arrival in Ethiopia.
The couple’s main source of tension is Baby’s job as a dancer and an MC at a local nightclub. “He gets to go out and be around beautiful women all night,” Ariela, 28, said in her confessional. The new mom, who had just given birth to the couple’s son, Aviel, said she ultimately trusts her boyfriend but she worries about temptation or him making a “dumb mistake.” The couple’s lack of communication also makes her feel suspicious of him.
“I recently started going through his phone because he gets a lot of phone calls from a lot of people and he has a lot of numbers in his phone, but he never explains who they are or what’s going on as usual. I never used to consider myself a jealous person, but I feel like Biniyam really pushes me to the limit sometimes,” she says in confessional. “We’re not communicating. We’re more like roommates with a baby.”
During a fight over their issues, Ari asked to see Biniyam’s phone. When he wouldn’t give it to her, she snatched it out of his hand. “Why don’t I go through the phone and I’ll just call every person and say, ‘Hi, this is Baby’s girlfriend. We just had a baby. Who the f–k are you?’” she asked. She threatened to call another number and Baby told her she could. Biniyam, 29, explained that sometimes when he’s at work, he’s busy and can’t answer so he sometimes turns off his phone. She told him not to turn his phone off while he’s at work and he agreed not to.
But Ariela and Baby continued to butt heads on the day her family arrived in Bini’s home country to meet him and their son for the first time. “It’s nervewracking to me that my parents are going to be here any minute and Bini and I have been fighting all day about miscommunication issues,” Ari said in her confessional. “Me and Bini are kind of living our lives but not sharing them, and so it kind of feels shady. Like he’s hiding something from me.”
The New Jersey native said she didn’t want to be upset while her parents were visiting so she would try to keep it together to put on a united front. Ari and Baby got a taxi to her parent’s hotel, which is where Ari will be staying with Aviel as they wait for Baby to fetch them from the airport. During the car ride, the couple got into another spat.
“I forgot to tell you, I have to work tonight,” Bini told Ari, explaining that he would spend time with her and her parents before heading to the club. “No, it’s not OK,” Ari said, mentioning that he promised her he would take the night off of work to spend time with her family. Bini insisted he couldn’t find anyone else at work to cover his shift for him.
“That sounds like bulls–t to me,” Ari snapped back. “If you cared about making a good impression on my parents, you wouldn’t leave tonight.”
Once he returned to the hotel, Biniyam visited with Ari’s parents briefly before leaving to work. “I’m so angry right now. My parents just flew 24 hours to meet him and meet our new family and now he’s just gonna leave? Like, I’m embarrassed,” Ari said. “I think it makes him look like a jerk. It’s really important for me to feel like my father likes him. I don’t want him to think that I made a bad decision by coming here to Ethiopia. If things don’t go well with Baby this week then it would make me question my choices.”
