Who is Ariela?

She is a 28-year-old freelance writer from Princeton, New Jersey. She also works part-time at her father’s cardiology practice. She describes herself as “very sensitive,” “adventurous” and “everyone loves” her. She also has a passion for travel and lived in Argentina for two years from ages 17-19.

Who is Biniyam?

He is 29 years old and is from Ethiopia. He’s dancer, choreographic, martial artist, gymnast “and every other ‘ist,'” Ariela revealed.

Ariela was previously married.

When she was in Argentina, she met a man named Leandro. She called him her “best friend,” and she wanted him to come with her when she returned to the United States. Since Leandro is a foreigner, the only way he would be allowed to move to the U.S. was if they got married. The couple tied the knot and were married for ten years, but they were separated for the last three years of their marriage.

“I was young and immature and I definitely rushed into a responsibility that I wasn’t ready for,” Ariela said in her confessional. The couple divorced in 2018.

How did Ariela and Biniyam meet?

Even though Ariela said she was “definitely not looking for love” following her divorce from Leandro, that all changed when she met Biniyam. She just wanted to travel the world and find herself. But she purchased a plane ticket to Ethiopia on a whim because the flight was “cheap,” and that’s how their love story began.

“I was waiting for a taxi outside a local hotel and I saw a very attractive guy. I yelled out, ‘Don’t I know you from somewhere?’ and it actually worked,” she said with a laugh.

Ariela said she did not want to be in a relationship at the time, but she still wanted to spend time with him. After three months of dating, Ariela found out she was pregnant with the couple’s first child — a son. She returned to the states to receive prenatal care.

Will Ariela stay in Ethiopia with Biniyam?

Even though Ariela planned to return to Ethiopia to give birth so Biniyam could be there for their son’s birth, it’s unclear if she will stay or be able to adapt to the lifestyle in a foreign country. According to previews, it seems like Ariela and Biniyam fight about the lack of kitchens and bathrooms in Ethiopia apartments. Ariela also expressed concern over the quality of prenatal and labor/delivery care in Ethiopia. Fans will just have to wait to find out if Ariela chooses to remain in the country with Biniyam and their son so they can live together as a family.
