In an MTV special that airs Feb. 23, three former Teen Mom stars—Amber Portwood, Catelynn Lowell, Farrah Abraham—give fans a glimpse of what reality is really like nowadays.
Being Amber will feature Amber’s life back in Indiana where she is living with her grandparents. After being released from jail in November, Amber’s main priority has been reconnecting with her daughter Leah.
However, her reunion with her daughter has been difficult since her ex-boyfriend Gary has a new girlfriend, making his and Amber’s relationship not so great.
“Before prison, I never thought about Leah. I was addicted to drugs and didn’t care about anything else,” Amber, 23, tells In Touch. “Prison saved my life—and gave me a second chance at being a mother.”
Meanwhile, Farrah has her own struggles to deal with. In Being Farrah we get to see how the 22-year-old handles the much-talked about controversial choices she has made such as becoming a porn star.
After her sex tape was released, she told In Touch, “It made it hard to have friends and a private life and to trust family…The sex tape ruined my life.”

Now living in Austin, TX with her daughter Sophia, Farrah faces challenges when her mother, who she moved far far away from, comes to visit during the special.
And not to mention, Farrah—claiming her parents would “beat” her if she acted out as a child—has her dad, Michael, living in her guesthouse.
In Catelynn’s documentary we see Catelynn, 22, living in Michigan where she struggles to maintain her relationship with her long-time fiancé Tyler and balance her relationship with her mom April and younger sister Sarah.
We also see Catelynn realizing giving up her daughter Carly for adoption wasn’t everything she expected. Will her speaking engagements promoting adoption become an irony?
The MTV special will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday. Being Maci featuring Maci Bookout and her son Bentley is available online at MTV.com.
