Brad Pitt’s Speech, Jason Momoa’s Tank Top and More: What You Missed at the 2020 Golden Globes

The 2020 Golden Globes was a night full of epic surprises, emotional speeches and reunions between old flames and costars. The A-list celebrities including Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Leonardo DiCaprio and more clearly dressed to impress at the star-studded event — which took place on Sunday, January 5, in Hollywood.

It’s great to see Brad, 56, back in action as he won for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood, and of course, he couldn’t help but crack some jokes. “I wanted to bring my mom, but I couldn’t because anyone I stand next to, they say I am dating. It would just be awkward,” he told the audience. Then, the camera panned to his ex-wife Jennifer’s reaction, and it looked like she was beaming at Brad.

The two sat “super close” to one another, a source told In Touch exclusively before the crowd took their seats. “Brad’s table is right at the front, and Jen’s table is directly behind,” the insider revealed. Naturally, this made it easy for the former flames to one into one another during the awards ceremony.

Even though the Friends alum, 50, and Brad have seen each other at parties this past year, it seems like there is no bad blood following their 2005 divorce. “I’ll run into Jen. She’s a good friend!” the handsome hunk told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet.

Meanwhile, Jason Momoa was seen wearing just a tank top during the ceremony, and naturally, Twitter was having a field day. However, there was a good reason behind him showing off his biceps. “Relationship goals is Jason Momoa wearing just a tank top at [the] Golden Globes after giving his jacket to his wife,” one person wrote. “Jason Momoa wearing a tank top to the Golden Globes. We stan,” a second person noted.

Tom Hanks and Ellen DeGeneres both received special Golden Globes awards, and they couldn’t help but gush over their careers and loved ones while they were on stage. “Thank you so much. You never know where life takes you,” the comedian said. “I feel humbled and honored to receive this. The first person after Carol Burnett is quite an honor, so thank you so much. It’s a prestigious award and what I like most about it is I knew coming in that I would win. I mean, there’s nothing worse than sitting there like most of you, waiting and wondering if you’re going to win and politely acting like, I’m going to listen to everyone’s speeches.”

For his part, Tom said, “[I’m] a man [who] is blessed. … Blessed with a family sitting down front like that. A wife, [Rita Wilson], who is fantastic in every way, who has taught me what love is,. Five kids who are braver and stronger and wiser than their old man is and a loving group of people who have put up with me being away months and months at a time.”
