Legendary Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt has dated his fair share of beautiful ladies over the years, but some would argue that he was at his best when he was married to Jennifer Aniston. It’s been over a decade since the iconic couple split, but honestly it seems like only yesterday they were young and in love. The 49-year-old Friends alum and the 55-year-old Fight Club legend have really lived whole new lives since the days of their coupling — Brad married actress Angelina Jolie after the split, while Jen married actor Justin Theroux. But it’s clear the original duo still hold a candle for each other, because Brad was spotted at Jen’s 50th birthday party on February 9 in West Hollywood. A source told In Touch exclusively that after Brad got sober during his split with Angie, he got “in touch with emotions and his true self like never before,” which led him to realize that “leaving Jen for Angelina was one of the biggest mistakes of his life.”

“And while Brad’s not in love with Jen, he realizes how much he does love her,” the source added. “Brad keeps telling friends that he’s seeing everything more clearly.”

Could that enlightened attitude have something to do with his appearance at the event? According to the source, Brad would’ve “never dream[ed] of” getting in the way of her marriage, but he “would take a second chance at love with Jen in a heartbeat.”
